Celtics get a starting center they desperately need.

Mavs could use more talent in the back court especially while Kyrie is out. Not only will this open up more minutes for Flagg, Davis, Washington and Gafford but it will give them a lot more space due to Pritchard shooting gravity.

Makes a lot of sense but I think DAL would want more. Much harder to find good centers than guards.

Dallas already signed D-Lo, so they have their Kyrie replacement.

Top pick in the draft always plays 1 or 2 summer league games if at all every year. Silly.

Top pick randomly shows up at a summer league game with no team gear, no entourage?

It was announced Flagg was shut down way before the Celtics/knicks game tipped off yesterday. Also, didn't the camera show him arriving at our game with only like 3 mins left in the 4th quarter? He was probably there to see the game(s) after ours..

Cooper Flagg signed his contract, can't be traded for 30 days. Mavs are not trading him anyways, fantasy world.

The Dallas Mavericks have signed No. 1 overall draft pick Cooper Flagg to his four-year rookie contract.

The Dallas Mavericks have signed No. 1 overall draft pick Cooper Flagg to his four-year rookie contract, and a person with knowledge of the agreement said Wednesday the club is bringing back guard Dante Exum on a one-year contract.

The team didn't disclose details in announcing Flagg's deal. The total value of the contract for the top pick on the 2025-26 rookie wage scale is in the range of $62.7 million, with a first-year salary of about $13.8 million, according to Spotrac. Those numbers can fluctuate slightly.

There are team options in the third and fourth seasons of rookie deals.

He was there with his dad (right). Not sure who the guy to the left is. Who knows, maybe a family friend, maybe a member of the Mavs scouting team? Maybe a random fan..

Dallas wouldn't do that deal. Plus, don't we want to see Pritchard COOK this year?

https://www.nbcsportsboston.com/nba/boston-celtics/charles-bassey-roster-spot-nba-summer-league/719665/

As Bassey reintroduces himself to the NBA world in Vegas, the question is whether the Celtics might be able to extend this look at him.

The Celtics already have a fully stocked 15-man roster and Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens said last week that the team is comfortable carrying this group into the 2025-26 season. There is some flexibility, however, as players like Queta and JD Davison are on non-guaranteed deals.

The Celtics still have some maneuvering to do to get back off the second apron after signing Garza and Josh Minott to minimum deals this offseason. That maneuvering could open another spot to add a player to the parent roster before the season tips.

Bassey should be intrigued by the potential for opportunity in Boston. The question is whether another team, alerted by his summer performance, might swoop in with the sort of guaranteed spot that the Celtics cannot immediately offer.

Bassey is an intriguing option. Whether his Celtics stay extends beyond Vegas ultimately might hinge on the interest he’s created for himself outside the Celtics organization.

Waive Walsh and Davidson, trade Scheierman into someone’s MLE for a second rounder. Keep Bassey. Hopefully dump Simons at the deadline to duck the tax

I haven't seen any summer league as I'm out of town but you guys seem pretty high on Bassey.

Is this just summer league vibes or do people see him as a real rotation option?

The irony with most of these cap friendly contracts is the short shelf life. It can go from an asset to a liability in the next contract.
