Solves the playmaking/backup PG issue, doesn't overlap much if at all with the current youth, was a great lockerroom presence last time, was an elite defender while he was here AND has improved his shooting since his last season with us.
If you could snag him for the minimum that would be amazing.
He'd be a perfect fit but then when healthy if you sign KA you are looking at cutting into/cutting completely TJ and/or Rob's already limited minutes.
If he were willing to take occasional DNP/CDs he would be amazing depth to have and a perfect cheap NAW replacement.
Maybe he would allow us to sit Mike alot more though and that makes up for the minutes crunch.

KA is probably the best player/fit they could possibly get at this point
I just hope Finch doesn't play him with Ruby quite as much, that offense made my eyes bleed

Utah is going to keep him as replacement for Collins. They are going to make him shoot 10 3s every game to ensure the success for the future and possibly drive up his trade value. Also will make Walker take 6s also. That is the only way to ensure Ainge's "process" works

If Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal are both off of the board, I would honestly be okay with bringing back Jordan McLaughlin. It isn't a sexy move, but bringing in a high-character guy who has familiarity with the system and teammates isn't the worst thing.
As a last resort I'd be good with that too. JMac is limited but so are the other options we have out there. I'm still thinking Malcolm Brogdon with the tax payer mid-level exception.

Sorry cmoss84, your worst idea ever.
BTW, 5 years ago I might have said yes.

I am beginning to think he may be our only option. It is awkward when you are the only boy and girl left without a dance partner

Totally agree. KA is a great defender, pass the ball well, not much turn over. At the minimum vet, it's a bargain. Hope Jazz make the buy out.

Yeah, not sure where his headspace would be at for that. He's not at the Ingles point of his career and got less time last season than he did with us, but it's still in that 15-20mpg area.
Maybe the ideal scenario, however unlikely, would be Finch pushing the rotation out to 10. Not necessarily hockey lineups but something roughly like:
Conley-Ant-McDaniels-Randle-Gobert
Rob-DDV-TSJ-Anderson-Reid
Clarke loses minutes which is unfortunate but I think there's going to be a number crunch at those guard spots regardless of Anderson and I imagine Clarke will be the loser if so. Not due to ability just circumstance.

Re: The 2025 Wolves Off Season
To be honest it makes me sad that we are discussing how much our GM and Coach Finnelly sux as well as how many of our players suck or are stupid. I have been dragged into debating that, but I'm done. You won't get one more comment on these subjects from me for a pretty long time. I'm sure this will make some happy. Go Wolves! AAARRRRROOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s funny how the void NAW left now has to be filled by four different guys, each of whom has only one of his key skills:
- DDV brings the 3PT shooting
- TJ has the slashing ability
- Rob offers the creativity
- Clark provides the on-ball defense
All four are actually better than NAW in their specific area — but the thing about NAW is he had all of those skills at once, at an above-average level for a bench player.
P.S. It’s like The Wizard of Oz. Hopefully by the end of the new season, everyone in this group will have found their “gift.”

Excellent post. NAW really did a bit of everything for us. SGA's cousin right? There's something to be said for bloodlines/DNA/Genes.

Nice post.
1. It’s an interesting way to categorize NAW, as the elusive two-way player. To be a decent NBA player, I think you need to have one great skill, and be able to do enough other things adequately to not hinder your team. True star have multiple great abilities. NAW was no star, but he was very good at defense, and above average in everything else. The true Prairie Home Companion. He consolidates talent and helps win ballgames.
2. One of my favorite things about the NBA is that players can get better. MIN fans have been treated to Ant last year suddenly becoming the NBA’s #1 three point shooter, and Naz seemed to come back each fall with a brand new skill! I think DDV can be a good defender, and will get back to where he was as a Knick, but the exciting part is watching the young Dillingham, Shannon and Clark. What new ability will make them more well rounded? What might they bring this year, that can help them earn the NAW Everyman-minutes?

I'm fully on board the Westbrook bandwagon...just for the pure dawg and energy mentality that would radiate throughout the entire rotation
Dysfunctional Wolves fan

Be interesting to see Rudy and Russ interact. There's bad blood there.

Why we can't even get a guy like Cole Anthony to join the Wolves on a buyout? Do we have a better PG plan?

Hopefully Dilly is a better PG plan. Sure he gets a little sloppy in SL games, but playing with actual rotation players he will look much better. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
