the nba tv broadcast of our summer league game last night was 100% acting like Greg Anthony had told them his son was gonna start for us

We were forced to play Kevin Porter and AJ Green 46-minutes each in our last playoff game because we had zero other playable/healthy guards and people are actually annoyed that we brought in a rotation caliber guy (Anthony) who's younger than both of those dudes? Weird.

Admittedly, I've been kind of enamored of his potential fit with Giannis for a while. He's one of the pieces I'd targeted from Orlando in a potential pre-injury Dame trade. He seemed to be most effective in Orlando with a big playmaker sucking in the defense. He's aggressive and extremely quick -- he can take advantage of the space.
It's a higher variance pick than some of the other options out there, but the upside is substantial and nobody should be surprised if he finds success in our guard swarm.

Why is everyone assuming that KPJ will be out starting PG?
His best role, with a healthy roster, would be the ultimate 6th man guy who still will get 30 mins per game. GIve him the Ginobili role

From the highlights, He looks like he has some hops, can dribble, kind of quick... Maybe we play a lot faster like we did under coach bud... Last couple years were pretty boring until the KPJ unleashing.

Saw an article which said that Cole and Rollins are the only two pg s with the Bucks, and it is possible that Cole is our starting pg.
I don’t like that possibility at all; strongly prefer kpj to be our starting pg.
Bu Doc is the best coach in the world.
Rollins being considered a pg over KPJ is verifiably untrue. Doc has said expressly that he doesn't consider Rollins a pg, and KPJ's been used in more lineups leading the unit. Now, Rollins has been the 1 w/ Giannis at times, but I think that approach died w/ Dame's achilles. Need a 2nd creator.
As for Anthony starting over KPJ, I very much doubt it. KPJ got paid significantly more, and even that was suppressed by off the court issues. Like I said, I think KPJ's the Dame replacement as the #2 option. But can't rule anything out w/ Doc at the helm.

Not determinative but KPJ did get paid significantly more than either GTJ, Rollins and Anthony.
Doc talked Porter up during summer league too including becoming more of a PG:

Kuz better not be getting 24 min/game.

I've always been one who says it doesn't matter who starts, it's who's in at crunch time. But the Prince/Kuz starting lineup was so bad and we dug such big holes we absolutely can't do that again.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

It's also not a huge part by any means, but Cole does a pretty nice job of chasing rebounds down and with Turner and potential for 3 guard lineups, having one of those guards be a guy that can grab boards is a nice little bonus. Especially helpful if Doc is true to his word that we're looking to push tempo this year; having Cole as a guy that can grab it off the glass and go fits well with that.
I'm with you; I was highly skeptical of Cole when he was coming out of UNC but he won me over in Orlando and like you, he was one of the Orlando guys that I was hoping we might target over the last couple years.
I've said it a few times now but the roster is shaping up to likely be depending on KPJ or Kuzma to create shots at a much higher rate than we should be comfortable with; bringing in another guy that can potentially do it (while also contributing in other ways) is a nice get. I'm not afraid of the idea that Cole is expecting minutes; he should be expecting them.

Also the trend is teams try to go bigger with their starter PGs. Dame struggled with this trend. The backup unit is ok with a flamethrower smaller guy. Just keep that scoreboard moving until the starters (mainly Giannis) return.

He played 25 on a title team. If he plays like most seasons, not last, you're probably going to want about that much.

I do think Kuzma will be better this season than he was last year (been said a million times, it was just a catastrophically bad season even by his standards), but yeah, that lineup simply never made any sense.

If this roster is any good it'll be in a sizable way because of the development and success of KPJ. He's gotta start.
KPJ is probably our 3rd best player. Certainly our 3rd best talent.

I think a lot of you hoping and expecting that KPJ turns into a bonafide number 2/3 are going to be very disappointed lol. He definitely has the talent but we are going to spread shots around like we always do. He’s going to fill an important role here but don’t be shocked if both BP and Turner get more shots than he does.

What's weird is wanting a 6' 2" player in your rotation who is not a good defender and isn't very good.
And it's also weird to say there are only two guards when Trent and Rollins are on the team.

If either one of those guys average more shots than he does the entire front office needs to be fired for malpractice.
It could definitely turn out that he's not capable of being efficient at that high of a load but we need to find out

Bucks seem on track for relying on KPJ in a serious way if (big caveat) we aren't making another substantial move for a top guy.
