Agree.

With NIL I think they should raise the draft age, but get rid of restricted free agency.

Rfa helps small market teams, and Raptors.

If restricted free agency came into effect for expired rookie contracts back in the 90s, we probably don't trade Camby and don't sign + trade McGrady (At least if i'm remembering the 1999 CBA right).

So you’re in favor of restricting player movement?

Players would come in to league much more polished. If you offer them an extension and they turn it down then you trade them. It might actually benefit small market teams.

You are overthinking it, it's simpler. All the best prospects would join for 3 or 4y, then go to LA, NY, Miami.

Btw, you already agree to restricting players "location choosing" by agreeing to the draft system.

Edit: look at LA Liga with no restrictions: it's always Real, Barca, and rarely Atletico. Or PSG in France, Bayern in Germany. I prefer the parity, and the hope and possibility that my team becomes a contender.

I don’t agree with the draft. I would eliminate the draft altogether.

Let me know when Real Madrid hits the 2nd apron.

Yea you'd cheer for Getafe. That's the equivalent of the Raptors. Unless you're an LA or Knickerbocker fan, and then you'd need to cheer for those and watch them only on TV.

I’m pretty sure RFA was implemented after Shaq left or the Lakers. It may have made sense at the time but with all of the changes that have been made to favor the team that drafted a player it needs to be changed. Now it’s just being used as an excuse for teams to under pay players and hold them hostage.

RFA as we know it came out of the 1999 lockout. A big contributing factor was the massive $126M/6y contract extension that KG signed in only his 2nd year in the league. Owners wanted to limit salaries in general and have more cost-controlled rookie contracts.

The Lakers won't take on any future salary so only 2 teams qualify with $50m in expiring contracts.

The only way that has even the slightest chance of happening is if Rich Paul is the Raptors new president. We’d be straight up Lebronto then. sad part is I bet MLSE would actually do it too. Darkest timeline.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Well there is talk of them wanting an agent to do the job. And there seems to be this desire to pursue flashy names across the teams owned by Rogers. As dark as it is, it is not completely implausible sadly. Also, and this was never discussed by our media for some reason, but the president appears to be a completely temporary position anyway. Pelley said that he wants a president for the Raptors but not the Leafs because they are still rebuilding. But rebuilding is (hopefully) not a permanent state. So the president seems to me to be a very short term position.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

restricting player movement absolutely favors small markets. we'd be screwed without it
