I think it's safe to say Tre is a better player and will have a better career.

We screwed up just admit it and we can move forward with what little dignity we have left. Charlotte gonna Charlotte at the end of the day. :banghead:

When it was clear VJ would be gone, I was hoping they’d take Tre or Ace (in that order). If they insisted on Kon, at least trade back for some extras. Sadly, Peterson and Lee wanted Kon bad enough that (perhaps) word got shared within the agent circles. If we are to believe Jeffie, they discussed the possibilities of trading back but didn’t get any good offers…AND…they didn’t want to RISK LOSING THEIR GUY. This is the story of Pussy Peterson…two years in a row, don’t trade back cause you might lose your precious only one.

Tre may never be an all-star, may never play defense well enough to be recognized for that, but I’ll bet he is a long time starter and key part of the Wiz future. I’d have placed our bet on him, and perhaps put him directly next to Melo and Miller on opening night. Imagine having Tre and the good fortune of McNeeley sliding to 29 for us?
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Tre looks more talented than Miller.

It's not that we passed on him, it's the fact we aren't taking the best available talent when it's time to pick.

Look at our past 2 drafts.

Salaun was nowhere even on the radar. Jeff took a swing on a raw prospect who maybe had some upside, but was mainly viewed as a boom or bust pick.

Kon again instead of taking the best available talent Tre/Ace he takes a safer pick with a lower ceiling. Basically we are getting a role player at best.

This guy doesn't seem to have a plan if you ask me. Then he's preaching high character with guys like LaMelo and Bridges on the roster smh.

Something about him doesn't whoa me. I think he is a slight ball hog. I would rather had gone Hugo Gonzalez, Walter Clayton, Taelon Peter over him. I bet Bub has the better career between the two.

Tre is not better than Miller.

It's funny some of you guys go crazy about other prospects, yet tell everyone to relax when it comes to our prospect lol.

If you gonna preach the patience route you should keep the same patience for all prospects. Someone mentioned this earlier yet we still got gatekeepers on the board.

I don't think you'll find support for this argument. Who has been written off after 1 summer league game?

Im talking about the people who keep telling other posters who and who not to write off.

It gets annoying. Everyone has a opinion. I shouldn't have to bite my tongue because Kon hasn't shown much so far. I'm not writing him off, but I'm holding him accountable in the moment.

Some of you guys praise other prospects off 1 game yet you're the same people calling others out for judging players off 1 game.

Just saying...

The difference is that (to my knowledge) no one else is saying definitely that player X is who I think he is because of what he looked like in one or two summer league games.

It's one thing to say player X looked good, looked bad, whatever, but saying after 1 exhibition game that "it's safe to say player X is better than player Y" is different. It's no more safer saying that now than it was 3 months ago, and even then you're judging your projection of two 19 year olds, both of which have a lot of room to grow.

I think Tre is going to be great, and he landed in the perfect situation for him. It won't surprise me to see him be a max player in 4 years, and to me it was a no brainer pick. I have a feeling it will be like passing on Eason, it will come back to haunt the franchise.

That said, we picked Kon, and we shouldn't disparage the player we have. Kon showed some passing chops tonight, and maybe he works hard enough to improve his handle and scoring off the dribble

Who judges to such extremes based off 1 game? Especially summer league. I remember Franz Wagner looking like **** in SL. He'd be our best player right now.

Its just hot take bs. Its ok to have a nuanced opinion but having such a strong take after 1 game is asinine.

Kon may be every bit as good as Tre, or not. Who cares about some dude on another team?

some of us have been not wanting specifically and almost exclusively Kon since the beginning of last year, he was the representation of the worst case scenario outcome of a ping pong ball induced failed tank all season that has become our new reality (which is sad because our tank didnt even fail THAT badly). nobody is being reactive to summer league, an unathletic stumpy 6'4 set shooter role player has been my nightmare pick ever since i saw him and i knew that he would end up on this team lol. certainly feeling no obligation to wait and see to bash this pick cause i was bashing it back in November

That's just being salty and negative for the sake of being negative. This type of thing has literally made posters stop posting on this board (the negativity).

So you were bashing a prospect in the first month of his freshman season. Cool.

i mean, hes not going to stop being a stumpy unathletic 6'4 set shooting role player when he's 25 years old
