Stretching would be the exact opposite of what lakers are trying to do. They want the books clean for next summer

Allen + Garland is not even a legal trade. Gotta dump Hunter on a 3rd team.

And in no world is a 41 year old expiring LeBron worth 2 All-Stars and a 6MOY Finalist.

Cavs already have iffy depth given Ball and LNJ injury history.

Rolling out the below roster is WAY too risky.

Ball/CPJ
Mitchell/Merrill/Proctor
Strus/Tyson
LeBron/Wade/Love?
Mobley/LNJ/Kardashian?

He’s not gettin stretched. And he would have to give back a significant amount of money this year for it to be worth it for the Lakers to buy him out.

There’s a zero % chance Cleveland trades for him. That would he the dumbest move of all time. It would take a complete tear down of their roster to make the financials work through the 2nd apron. It won’t happen.

A player of Lebron's stature essentially playing on a min for a new team would never happen. If he goes elsewhere, its via trade imo.

Lebron has hit the wall and is surprised that teams are not still simping for him. Why would any team trade for him, he is only in it for his own needs, not for loyalty, not to be a supporting player. He will be seen as the mercenary for hire, loyal to no one.....

Loyalty mostly isn't rewarded by teams, so why should players provide it?

to be quite honest. Altman has a great situation on Cavs, some of the cap stuff is challenging but I imagine he doesn't want any of the lebronisms or pressures with a high influence player.

The simple answer is next year. That way he walks and just signs with the Cavs. He plays out this year in a Lakers Jersey, next year as a free agent he can pick and choose where to go.

He could've did that by declining his player option. That's what makes no sense about the whole thing.

To Pelicans: Garland/Strus/Vincent/Kleber

To Lakers: Allen/Hunter/Murray

To Cavs: Murphy/James/Bronny

Might be two trades, but Cavs get below 2nd Apron.

Mobley
James
Murphy
Mitchell
Ball (or start Merrill with Mitchell at PG)

Why not push for Mobley to LA? Evan fits thr Laker timeline, and clearly what Cleveland wants doesn’t matter.

The Cavs won’t be trading Garland for LeBron, let alone any Garland/Allen/Hunter package.

If LeBron wants to come back, he can do it next year as a free agent.

Garland
Mitchell
James
Mobley
Allen

Bron can win a title then retire.

Despite what people think, I think LeBron is above taking a minimum salary to try and game the max system and cheapen his ring.

It's good to be King, but not when you're old.

Some of you really need to understand how the second apron works.

This sounds so very familiar and I can't say that I miss it. One thing I don't think that people understand is that LBJ refused to extend his last summer here, which caused the PG for Kyrie to fall through, which caused Kyrie to demand a trade. Everyone understood it was LBJ's last season in Cleveland at that point, he wanted the Cavs to trade that unprotected Nets pick they got in Kyrie trade for a marginal upgrade anyway, and the Cavs said no. The Cavs were done eating the seed corn for LBJ eight years ago.

I don't begrudge LBJ opting into $53M at 40, but the Cavs won't be blowing up their team to trade for him,. The door will still be open next summer. Whether he wants to walk through it is up to him.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.
