Lakers can stretch LeBron so he can sign with the Cavs for his last season. The NBA would love to the story of 40 yr old LeBron leading the Cavs to the finals. It could make up for the lost of revenue from this year's finals.

Stretching would be the exact opposite of what lakers are trying to do. They want the books clean for next summer

Allen + Garland is not even a legal trade. Gotta dump Hunter on a 3rd team.

Cavs already have iffy depth given Ball and LNJ injury history.

to be quite honest. Altman has a great situation on Cavs, some of the cap stuff is challenging but I imagine he doesn't want any of the lebronisms or pressures with a high influence player.

Why not push for Mobley to LA? Evan fits thr Laker timeline, and clearly what Cleveland wants doesn’t matter.

The Cavs won’t be trading Garland for LeBron, let alone any Garland/Allen/Hunter package.

If LeBron wants to come back, he can do it next year as a free agent.

This sounds so very familiar and I can't say that I miss it. One thing I don't think that people understand is that LBJ refused to extend his last summer here, which caused the PG for Kyrie to fall through, which caused Kyrie to demand a trade. Everyone understood it was LBJ's last season in Cleveland at that point, he wanted the Cavs to trade that unprotected Nets pick they got in Kyrie trade for a marginal upgrade anyway, and the Cavs said no. The Cavs were done eating the seed corn for LBJ eight years ago.

I don't begrudge LBJ opting into $53M at 40, but the Cavs won't be blowing up their team to trade for him,. The door will still be open next summer. Whether he wants to walk through it is up to him.
