what happened to full autonomy of his staff? I don't like this. carry over 1 or 2 assistants, but basically the entire staff stays and just Mike Brown and a couple of his guys sends the message that it was basically all Thibs' fault. + consider some of those assistants are loyal to Thibs, could cause a fractured locker room if they don't hit the ground running
There are rumors that Thibs doesn't let his staff give any criticisms when it comes to his rotations and game plans. It's basically either "Yes" or "No", but otherwise Thibs does things his way always. That's not how you suppose to empower your staff.
If they were Thibs' loyalists, they would leave on their own merit, but them coming back says to me that they're not that loyal. Good on them, and maybe they'll get more credit and lend a voice to Mike Brown.

It’s the Leon takeover, man. Now that the team is decent, he didn’t feel he needed Thibs anymore.
FAFO!

Those assistants also wanted Thibs gone apparently. Why else would they stay? I hope Brown is the answer. I do not believe Thibs was.

Leon hired Thibs in the first place.

Maybe they stayed because of the consistent paycheck?

Hasn't even coached a single game for the team yet and you're predicting failure..
You're rooting against the coach and essentially the Knicks. You "can't wait". Gotcha.

We've all seen this movie before man.
"We are in win now mode, we can't waste our superstars prime, we have to find a way to hire Mike Brown to lead us to a chip"......said NO TEAM EVER....besides the Knicks apparently.
Say what you want about Thibs, yea he had issues, but he was elite at what he did do well, which is build culture and identity with a no nonsense approach and insistence on hard work and defense. This "players coach" garbage will never win anything in this league.
I know it, you all know it too. And you'll all admit it soon when we are underachieving in a year that should ideally be an easy rode for us with a hobbled Indiana, Boston, Milwaukee, and a Heat team in flux. Coaching MATTERS. And we blew it.

Not a fan of the Brown hire but, Thibs peaked and is not a championship level HC. He lost the team from top to bottom like his last two jobs. He needed to go.
What's your issue with Brown exactly?
