As for his game specifically, I think he seems like a shorter, less athletic Neemias Queta, with worse passing, worse post moves and much less experience playing in the Celtics system. So he's somewhat redundant here, with a guy (who's better) who is so similar to him.

To my eye, Bassey looks far more athletic than Queta. It is remarkable that people can watch the same guy and come to such opposite conclusions. To each his own, though.

Queta dominated summer league last year. IDK I’d Bassey is more athletic, but he might be a bit. I don’t think he is as good a player as Queta though. That said I’d like if we could figure out a way to get Bassey on the team.

it's not bassey vs queta tho it's bassey vs tillman. which is a clear upgrade. just got to find a taker for tillman, maybe packaged with walsh/JD/peterson. he is a waste of space.

amari has some long-term potential but he's not going to help us next season. if all goes well he might sneak in as a 15th man year after next.

1. Queta (this will be his 3rd year with the Celtics, familiar with Mazzulla, Brown, White etc. and what the Celtics are trying to do)
2. Garza (Celtics gave him two years guaranteed because they want him to play and see what he can do after having limited time everywhere)
3. Hopefully Bassey (he is a pro and is great at one of the Celtics biggest issues - rebounding)
4. A Williams (Celtics drafted him at #46 as a developmental player and expect him to play in Maine, because of 2nd apron issues, he may be the 3rd center)
5. Tillman - Celtics will play him more at the 4 if he plays at all.

That's it in my opinion unless the Celtics make another move.

Switch Tillman instead of amari.

Amari is not in the mix. He is a two way. He is a non-factor.

The 4/5 combinations will be

Brown, Niang, Hauser, Tillman are the 4s

5s
Quetta, Garza, Tillman, Niang

Amari is the guy they need if someone gets hurt to sit on the bench.

Basset. Maybe they sign him. Until they do I am
Not gonna count him. We have no rights to him.

I saw on social media that Celtics can't include cash in trades or they will be capped at the 2nd apron and (likely) unable to complete certain trades or use TPE that temporarily would put payroll above the 2nd apron.

I try to stay current on the trade rules, but I didn't know inclding cash will hard cap the Celtics. If this is the case, it means JD or Walsh would need to be waived to open a 15th roster spot for Charles Bassey or a player (plus picks) would need to be traded into another teams space.

This fact, if true, makes me doubt if Brad will sign Bassey to a roster contract.

Agreed, though you can't bundle up 4 flotsam players and expect someone to take the package.

Isn't that Drew Carter on the play by play on this Chicago Indy game? Wonder if he's also doing the C's game.

It was, but won't be on the Celts call. Should have had him on our game.

Not to call a technical foul, but I think you mean jetsam.

From the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA): Flotsam is defined as debris in the water that was not deliberately thrown overboard, often as a result from a shipwreck or accident. Jetsam describes debris that was deliberately thrown overboard by a crew of a ship in distress, most often to lighten the ship's load.
