A lot of pindowns, a lot of zoom actions, a lot of dribble handoffs, they're making a concerted effort to get him the ball when he's already on the move to help make up for his lack of explosiveness/creating separation off the dribble.

I think he's pretty far off from being able to be a full time point guard at the NBA level, but the early returns on his ability to be efficient offensively, both as a scorer and a ball protector, are very encouraging.

I think the sad commentary on our bench offense is that it's an upgrade just to have a guy you can run plays for.

And look, if he can score efficiently and not turn the ball over, there's a ton of value there no matter how tall/short you are.

+1

Everything possible to give it to him when he's already moving.

So…playmaking? Passing to a guy in a way that makes scoring easier for him rather than handoff at the logo and watch him cook? Good to hear

Tactically yes, it's good to hear. I don't think that was Knightros point, but I think you know that already.

Last time we were here, we had Jay Huff on our team and he’s probably a better Kalkbrenner/Raynaud to the point that MEM signed him off of our Summer team and then IND traded for him right after losing Myles Turner. Granted, he was still probably not athletic or defensive enough to beat out Wendell and Goga anyways, right? Right?

Last year a few people argued with me thinking it’s weird that I would be cheering him on even though he was an older player. I’m so glad he got to land on a team and I am cheering for all the other ones who are just trying to fulfill their dream.

I thought the complaint on him in MEM is that he doesn't LIKE to play defense?

Cole was reckless and Jase is measured. Cole’s “aggression” wasn’t a strength.

I said this in the Cole thread but he is just too emotional to be consistent. Jase seems kind of unbothered and stoic, so it makes sense his game is a bit more measured and efficient.

Funny you say this. As I’ve been watching him I’ve been thinking that in terms of temperament and control on the court - Jase gives off Fultz vibes.

If only he was the size of Fultz

I will take the shooting over the size in this case every time.
