I was able to go to the game on Sunday and here are my take aways:
Brea looks good in person, great stroke and you feel every shot is going to go in. I hope we run some plays for him but even if we do not, he will find his shot.15 points at 42.9% 28.43 minutes.
Wood stood out at the end of the game to me. He did a lot of little things, I do not expect much from him but the basketball found him, he was in the right position many times. Not a lot of offense but was not bad otherwise. 28% 10 points. 28 minutes
Oso was the best player that suited up for us all around. He still gets lost when he has the ball and goes through the motions, instead of reacting in real time to what is happening around him. This leads to poor ball handling and passing mistakes. I am excited to see him continue to find his role and perfect his set of skills without trying to do everything. 18 points, 30 minutes
Dunn and Maluach were there on the bench and during warm ups. Dunn looks happy and knows he does not need to be there in Summer league but is happy to be there.
Disappointing not to see more Suns players there to support the Summer suns. The only Sun I was able to confirm was Collin Gillespie sitting next to our new GM and coach. There were two other guys sitting with him and could have been Williams and someone else. I guess with our roster still up in the air the players did not show up. The Hawks had lots of support from their team. Trae Young was walking around as well as other players from their team.
No judgement on the coach but Ott was sitting across the court from our bench and looked like an uncomfortable kid in street clothes sitting next to Gregory. I am excited to see him in action as a coach.
The Hawks center Jake Stevens looked good and someone to keep an eye on as he develops. He has a good outside shot and clogs up the middle.
Just my $0.02 from what I saw. It was nice to meet so many Suns fans in Vegas. I live in San Diego now and hardly get to see a live game. It was my wish on how I wanted to spend my Birthday and it was fun to share it with my family. It was a cool relaxed vibe and the game was played on the side court and not in the big gym. I am a beaten and battered Suns fan but I have hope for the future to have some fun games watching these young guys find their way on our team. Go Suns.
