Great finish but this announcer (play by play guy) was brutal to listen to.

Ah, not so sure about Ingram. Rather keep the final spot open. Garcia 100% though

Love these Spurs. Harper is a bit rusty but his ability to get to the rim with such ease is cool to see so far.

Not sure about Garcia, only bc there is a huge log jam at the guard spot already. I think he'll likely get signed by another squad.Rust_Cohle wrote:G R E Y wrote:Sign Riley and Jones-Garcia and Ingram now and we're good.

Unless they want to use his as a two way player. But if I'm him he's good enough to get actual bench minutes on a team somewhere.

Yeah the high of today's game swayed me but otherwise I agree.

Was definitely his best game in a while, you’re not wrong!

I think he is too good to let go. Plus castle will play a fair bit at the 3 this season. Assuming we get fox/castle/harper in the starting 5 this coming season, DJG can do 5-10 minutes a game.

They also signed Mclaughlin who will get time over Garcia. Fox, Harper, Castle, Mclaughlin, the Garcia as far as running the point.Rust_Cohle wrote:bluemj32 wrote:Not sure about Garcia, only bc there is a huge log jam at the guard spot already. Of course some of those guys are interchangeable at other positions but we are heavy at the 2 & 3 as well.
I'd be shocked if he cracks playing time on the Spurs, I've seen guys kill it before but signed else where for more of an opportunity

What's the average age of Spurs summer league roster? 25?

Bronny was the best Laker player tonight. Not even a stretch to say it.

Nah. He just secured his rotation minutes from Mazzulla next season.

Overreaction: I haven’t been impressed with Dylan Harper in Summer League. He looks slow, struggles with his right hand dribble (defense likes to force him right), and his shooting is questionable. He feels more like a wing who can handle the ball. But if the shooting eventually comes around, he has real star potential.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.

I mean, I actually watched the game. In this highlight video alone Flagg scores on Carter directly 4 different times. Another time he beats him down the floor in transition and in another Carter threatens a double that Flagg splits. Like I said, 1-2 times he guarded him well in the very beginning of the game and then Flagg proceeded to score at will whether Carter was on him, in the vicinity or someone else had him. I'm a fan but it's clear the false narrative that he's some shutdown defender is already being promoted despite the facts
The facts:
8 points on Bryant on poor efficiency.
except those aren't facts. In the highlight video I provided (that doesn't even show all of Flagg's scoring btw just a half dozen or so) he literally scores on Bryant directly 4 times so how is he 3-12 per that laughable tweet? These ridiculous stats are always massaged to paint a narrative. They can claim he wasn't being guarded or was depending on what they want to show to establish a narrative. Like, if Bryant chooses to go under the screen and challenges the shot late and Flagg hits the three they can laughably claim Bryant wasn't the defender. Or they can count him being the defender if he weak side contests a layup as a help defender. It's really dumb.
When you have announcers telling people to ignore offense because his defense is so good you know they're just glazing big time. He's got potential to be a great defender. He's a good defender now. But they're talking about him like he's prime Kawhi. And offense has to come around or he's just going to be the next Thybulle, another guy they overrated on defense that doesn't get minutes because his offense is non-existent.

Jones-Garcia has been very impressive on both ends. He deserves major NBA minutes and sadly won't get them, especially with you guys. I don't understand why teams without point guard depth don't trade for guys like these? I'd hate to see a guy like that forced to play in the G-League or struggle to get 12 mpg

this is out best SL team ever though. Of course, they're all 24 y/o so that helps. I really wish we were trading all the vets and rebuilding because I'd have more fun watching this SL team win 20 games and get a top 5 pick than the current starters win 38 and pick in the late lottery.

Impressed? Not particularly. He’s older and this is exactly how he should be playing against this level of competition.
Still ecstatic and he has shown obvious and expected growth. He and Black are going to be a huge pieces off the bench for the Magic.
However, I AM impressed with Jase. Extremely efficient, not a complete defensive liability and just knows how to play and doesn’t let his small stature affect him.
I’m hoping Orlando uses him more like Brunson (as the lead PG, but it seems as they’re currently using him like Izzo used him in Michigan).

I heard Jase was advanced stats darling in college. Maybe sometimes we overthink scouting, and maybe this guy is just good, small stature aside?
