Question: Is your team wanting to re-sign Keegan or trade him? If re-signing do you guys think he’ll get the rookie max?

He fits with the new FO's playing style. I think he gets an extension but it won't be the max

Good opening SL day for Perry. Picks looked decent as well as some possible reasoning for his Carter shopping (though I'm still on board with him)

you mean Vivek don't you? I thought he was a meddling owner pulling all the strings? Dictating draft picks, trades and FA? We can't selectively blame him for all the bad and not credit him for the good. Let's have some consistency.

Again, not hard to understand that dictating the direction of the team is not the same thing as personally building the roster.

I'm really trying to understand the JVal for Saric deal for Sac. We now can't aggregate Saric for 2 months. JVal wanted to go back to europe, and was willing to leave all the $ on the table. Why not just tell Denver hey we talked to JVal and we are going to do right by him and cancel the trade then have JVal agree to a buy out and leave. Would have given us more tax space to go out and add a forward into that MLE.

Just seems like Perry read the cards wrong or was trying to buy some good grace with Denver for a future deal, because otherwise it makes no sense. I really hope they don't think Saric can eat minutes next year.

I think LA tells us to kindly F off lol. They'd probably rather buy out Lebron themselves. But then again they have a "2 year plan" to enter free agency in 2027 when Jokic/Giannis are available so maybe? Easy way to sell the fans they aren't punting they got LaVine whose going to shoot 45% from 3 next to Luka.

But that would be amazing if we could figure this out. I genuinely wish we could make LaVine/Derozan just disappear.

Yikes... Schroder has been terrible for a bit, just shows you where things are at in terms of pgs in our grasp. but Schroder has been so terrible, I'm not sure he does anything over playing an ill fitting player at pg

After watching Schroder with the Warriors no way I would sign him and give him 45 million.

I don't at all blame you guys for not following the Pistons through the 2nd half of this past season, but it's clear that you didn't. Schroder wasn't given that contract based on his play in GS. He got it based on his play in Detroit. And as a Detroit fan, I can tell you he was great for us. We were in dire need of point guard at the trade deadline. He came in and immediately impacted the team with his leadership and intensity. He's a type-A floor general/qb who runs the offense, coaches teammates, and can still get to the rim & shoot the ball. While he does have defensive limitations, he's a crafty pest. He rises to/thrives on the pressure of the playoffs. He wants the smoke. He was our 2nd best player (and arguably most clutch) in the Knicks series. I was pissed that we let him walk.

Yeah, I don't make much Pistons games, lol, but thanks for the info. The basal numbers looked a bit rough in Detroit too when I gave it a cursory glance, but I know many Pistons fans feel like you do after reading some of the comments. Perry has looked good initially with his draft selections, so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt here, along with the fact that the true pg market this free agency was shallow as hell. Hopefully Dennis continues the Pistons play that had you guys excited

We won with Davion back in 2021 too, it would be a third if we won this year which would be the most SL championships of any franchise.

Nique - good pick. Looks to be at least a solid do it all role player

Maxime - skilled, but some concerning attributes on the defensive end. Still should be a second rounder that hits (which means can play a solid bench role). He certainly wouldn’t be worse than Lyles

Isaac - Can’t bet against motor and I don’t know the percentages but looked more comfortable outside. Worth continuing to develop

Devin - I think there may be a reason he’s being shopped despite my initial fandom

Last summer in the 2024 draft thread when I was perusing picks I thought Filipowski and Carrington popped a bit, though I also thought McCain and Carter could be options.. Kid just had a baseline of talent to work with and fell..

Carrington... mixed bag, but guards an be in that range. still think there will be a career

We’ll be interesting to see Kuminga’s contract as it relates to Keegan.

I think I’d rather have Keegan, just because I think his floor is safer as a solid contributor, but Kuminga has a non insignificant more upside as a younger, more driven offensive player. Keegan has regressed offensively since being in the league, though his D makes up for it in terms of being a near average starter (you can argue if he’s slightly above or below), I’m not sure what you would pay him until he showed some offensive imprint. I think Keegan will wait til next year so the org can continue to evaluate his O before extension, and I wonder what Kuminga will receive
