Biggest summer league takeaways so far :
1) Larsson is a rotation player.
You combine his motor, constant driving, foul drawing physical style with an improve jumpshot (he's like 90%+ FT) and above average defense - and he's a great fit with Herro and Powell. I think he might've leapfrogged Jamie. His slashing game is very intriguing and should be explored more during the season.
2) Ware's talent is elite but still expect growing pains. His motor runs on and off, but those last 2 games you just can't deny the star potential. His pull up 3's look silky smooth, has elite touch, size, jump. This is one of Spo biggest challenges as a veteran coach - find ways to develop and maximize this kid's god given abilities.
3) Kasper has potential - you see some good signs but you also see he's very early in his development. reminds me of the Jovic trajectory- first year we shouldn't expect much - but in a year or 2 might be a great piece.
4) Vlad and Keshad look serviceable, deserving of roster spots but to soon to tell about rotation minutes.
5) No one else stood out - we might need to add a couple of 2-wayp layers from different teams.

I agree with your post but I do have my doubts with your #4 point.
Vlad is a big dude, good hands but those slow feet concern me. You can see it in SL and it will be exploited in the NBA. Too bad Slow-Mo is no longer on the team, I’m sure Vlad could have used the pointers there.
As for Keshad, he scares the crap out of me every time he puts the ball on the floor. No handles/poor dribbling ability. At the moment, he is an athletic slasher that needs a floor general to get him the ball. We don’t have one. Not sure we’ll see much of him as a fit for this team unless he improves in other areas. He might be better suited as a 2-way contract for continuous development over taking a roster spot.

Slight concern was Celtics figured it they could poke Larsson from behind and exploited it. Gives Larsson sobering to work on.
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

They knew Larsson didnt have a left hand, however they are scrubs so they are not that good at excuting the scouting reports. Defenders were starting to defend his right hand and Larsson was still forcing the dribble to his right. Larsson forcing the issue to everything to his right hand and defenders closing in on that right hand is why it appears Larsson is playing so physical. Its going to comeback to haught him. He has an obvious flaw in his skillset which can be fixed but he hasnt shown any indication he working on his left hand skills.

Why was Kasper a DNP Coaches decision? Is he that raw of a talent that he can’t even play in summer league? Ship his butt to Idaho and don’t come back till he has some skills that provide value to the team.

I think the coaching staff has a feel on Kasper. He is fully a developmental player. He will make the team and be sent to GLeague. I think they want to use the court time to measure other possible 2-way or roster spots. With Ware and Larson, is all about reps to see how they can be used in the rotation.

They don’t want Kasper to get more reps in cuz they have a feel on his level of play? Seems like to me the summer league is a good place for him to get some reps in. But hey, if I had a player that was playing at Kaspers level I would not give him much playing time, if any at all.

Also, I think since Pelle is off to play with Team Sweden they wanted to let him finish strong in Summer league. The next (and probably last) game hopefully Kasparas will get the keys.

They did this with Vlad the game before. Maybe just wanting to let them sit and take in the game.

No issue with Kaspar sitting a game. It’s just general maintenance over the summer and par for the course. They’d have a heavy workload between 2 a day practices and games, so it’s fine to give him a game off.
I’d still like to see him with the ball in his hands a lot more, rather than standing in the corner and playing off ball. I get that they might be going the Niko development route though and putting him in uncomfortable situations to get him to grow.

Re: 2025 MH Summer League - The Youth Movement Era VEGAS! Sunday July 13th, 730pm est vs CLE
i say this as someone who does not expect much out of him…. I hope he turns into dragic but he is far, far away ..
In kaspars defense, Summer league and G league is probably the sloppiest form of basketball of the entire world, well besides womens basketball…..
everyone is trying to get their numbers/moments to make it to the nba and that does not not work with someone like kaspar who is trying to play point guard
Im sure with more reps, he will have better moments in the g league..
But the real development will come when he works directly with our coaching staff, when caron, quinn and spoelstra get their hands on him, when our starting line up is telling him what they expect, what he should see and look for, what to anticipate.
The shooting will come.. spo has made 3 point shooters out of the biggest bums coming out of the ymca.. hell Bam is one of our most efficient 3 point shooters.

Kaspar will be fine… he seemingly has the work ethic to at the very least stick and get backup minutes.

Next summer league game is tomorrow. If Kasper doesn’t play, then it’s sending a message that he aint ready. Hopefully that work ethic he talks about kicks in this year and he gets himself playing at NBA speed. I am rooting for his success, but realistic about what I see.

Last game they were solely focused on Pelle, Keshad, and Ware. Actually think they really wanted the win against Boston. They sat out Vlad the game before in a summer league b2b and gave Kaspar the same treatment on the back end of that b2b. With Pelle gone i assume we will get plenty of Kaspar.

He needs to show some production or he is going to have a very tough offseason.

He’ll be mostly at Sioux Falls. That’s fine let him learn the game.

Makes sense to me, they know they are paying Kas for some time and need to put in an organized developmental program for him that will take years….
They might be unsure about some of these other guys….
