Of course, Frankfurt's fee is lowered from original 100m.

As a Liverpool fan, I'll be disappointed if the Reds do not get involved.

Incredible signing.

I have Newcastle and Chelsea as my favourites for league as of today.

Toons need some defensive depth though and to get Trafford across the line.

As someone that isn't a fan of Arsenal, this player is fantastic. Outside of being a bit weak in the air, he reminds so much of a more flexible Antonio Rudiger.

I wonder if he's the Saliba succession plan.

I doubt Liverpool would open talks/approach Newcastle United without first sounding out the player/agent.

Possibly breaking the British transfer record twice in one transfer window is something I must say.

The Ekitike/Isak situation is definitely one of the more compelling in this window.

I'm hoping that Spurs can get the MGW situation resolved. Feels like Forest are kicking up a stink for no reason, honestly. Don't see how Spurs' approach could have possibly been illegal if we triggered the release clause and arranged a medical. Presumably documents are exchanged in that process.

I think someone from Spurs leaked his release clause because there wasn’t any knowledge about it. It’s really weird I just think Forest owner who’s a knobhead just feels upset. Clubs have been doing this for 15 years with barely any complaints about tapping up. It’s pretty much the norm for clubs to approach agents in the transfer window and outside the transfer window. Declan Rice to Arsenal was pretty much agreed in between both the winter and summer windows before he joined Arsenal.

Southampton put up a fuss over Liverpool's approach to van Dijk. The result was LFC backing away and waiting until the winter period to finalize the transfer.

That would likely be worst case scenario for Tottenham, no?

More than likely yeah if another club doesn’t come in for MGW

Forest are interest in Jacob Ramsey from us and I’d say there’s a possibility MGW goes if they can convince us to sell Ramsey.

I sort of hope Spurs put a bid in for Ramsey now just to mess with Forest.

Are there rules against tampering, like approaching a player under contract to another club?

NBA has such rules, though they're mostly ignored and I can't recall the last time an NBA team was heavily punished.

It just means (we have) more (to spend).
It's time for 5 refs.

Unpopularly, I feel like Ekitike would be the better signing for Liverpool, so if I could choose, I'd rather it be Isak. Isak brings special ball striking, but Ekitike is a similar type of forward with superior associative play and aerial presence. I think he's a surefire PL hit. Less injury prone and much less mileage on his body. He's logged about a third of the minutes to an Isak who's been pro since 15.

Newcastle tried for Ekitike twice in consecutive windows years ago before eventually pivoting to Isak, he's a top player.

Have to mention Liverpool attempting to shatter the British transfer record twice in a singular window, I'm sure the narrative however won't be like it would for other clubs performing a similar operation.

A part of me agrees, which is why I've been enjoying each tweet from Ornstein and Romano. Should Newcastle United decide to keep Isak, LFC will target Ekitike.

The other part, though, says take the certainty in Isak. He's already proven his worth in the PL.

It’s similar but they get ignored as well. Some teams tell players to also force their way to a club by going on strike etc. A lot of **** happens behind the scenes with transfers.

I’m quite surprised spurs are not in for Ramsey. I like Ramsey a lot and want him to stay but i think his ankle injury a couple years ago has messed his development up big time.

Isak is clearly a Madrid / Barcelona level player so you take the chance to sign him if you can, I just feel like Ekitike is more of a classic Edwards buy where they explode in a year or two and everyone is wondering how they didn't obviously see it coming.
