Is it just one final game? Like the two teams with the best records play each other?

After 4 games, top 4 teams are in the "playoffs" and the rest get one consolation game. Playoff teams play a semifinal and if they win, a final.

Tiebreakers for the top 4 spots, assuming the same record, are:
- head to head record
- total point differential
- total points scored
- coin toss

So almost certainly need to go 4-0 to be a final 4 team, or have dominating wins if a 3-1 team makes it. Might need both if enough teams are undefeated. CHI game helps on that front.

There are 9 undefeated teams still, with 5 of them 3-0 and the other 4 (including us) 2-0. Our last two games are against the Nuggets and Warriors, neither of which are undefeated, so no chance to narrow the field on our own.

We'll know better going into our last game what we need, as half the league finishes up on Wed and we are in the latter half who finished on Thurs. But I'd expect the regulars to keep playing until winning SL is off the table.

Okay that makes sense but why does ESPN have a category called quarter points in their summer league standings? I figured it had to be a tie breaker for them to include it.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

No idea. Though I don't see that category here:

Here's the source on SL tiebreaks from the NBA SL page, if interested:

It is right there next to win pct. Shortened to ‘points’ and the numbers you’ll find correspond to number of total quarters won by each team. It seems to me that ESPN has the impression that this is the 2nd tiebreaker as they have listed team according to win pct/points/then differential. They for sure could be mistaken though.

He's got that young Carmelo Anthony body type. I think melo was also around 230-240 in his rookie year

Why would we not be trying to win the finals?

They’ll continue to play until that’s no longer an option.

I'm also getting the same vibe. It does feel like the start of something special to come. We've been starved for a good bench for several years now.

Uh? You mean our main players won't play if we are out of the playoffs? If we make it to the playoffs and finals, you can bet our main squad will be playing most of the minutes; time to win something in the name of the Raptors!

Historically the Raps in Summer League stop trying after 2 or 3 games and give the guys at the end of the roster more burn as a thank you to them.

This is true. But also historically we haven’t had a summer league team that could get to the finals or back in the day this finals thing wasn’t even an option. I think they may move differently this year. Even the way Shead keeps talking you can tell he wants to win it. But I guess we will see what direction they choose. It could go either way
