He will also be 24 on his rookie season....At the age of 24 Baron Davis was 2 time all star and avrging 22 pts, 8 asts,4 reb with 2.4 steals a game  ....Martin will be a 905er since we already have so much depth at the SG position already at 24 years of age....Not even close to a good comp...

We can hope one day he reaches an Eric Bledsoe level....But we have to remember hes alot older for a rookie so he should be much more advanced than most of the players on the court in SL...To put it in perspective Jakobe will be 21 years old during this year while Martin will be 24....

Davis comp is prob satire, as that twitter account tends to post ludicrous comps for giggles.

But Idk why ppl pretend that 23-24 year old seniors entering the league won’t amount to much, as if we didn’t just watch a bunch (Nembhard, Caruso, etc) play pivotal roles in their respective title runs.

Norm and Bane were also 4YR senior guys - Martin could end up having a career like them.
He showed a ton of promise in last nights game.

Norm was 22 , Bane was also 22.....2 year diff is big.... Not saying Martin can't play a good role for us or he won't be good at all....Just his window is alot more short to develop....If he doesn't carve out a role for himself pretty quickly there is a chance he could find himself struggling to find a roster spot....We are stacked at the SG position and Martin does not really look like PG ....So we would need to either develop him as a PG or move some SGs for him to get some PT on our team...

Like what he showed out there but age deff is a factor....A player like Chris Duarte is a good example of a 24 year old rookie coming into the league had a really good rookie showing but slowly started to find himself out of the league as he aged....Also not saying that will happen with Martin but point is he does not have as much time to slowly develop due to age....

He looked like Dwyane Wade out there, that can shoot 3's. :D

Bledsoe is a terrible comp as well. Bledsoe was like a Russell Westbrook lite type of player. You didnt know if you would get 10 assists or 10 turnovers. I think of Martin as more of a Josh Hart kind of do everything player but he also has a good looking jumpshot and crazy athletisism.

With NIL's paying out as much as a late 1st round pick nowadays we are gonna see alot of VERY good 23 and 24 year olds in the NBA Drafts come in as rookies. This years class has a handful of killer older players.

The GLeague team is going to be stacked with him, Roddy, Chomche and CMB at times. He just needs a handle to be an impact player at the next level.

I can’t believe everyone is forgetting raptor/pacer legend Fred Jones. That is my comp for Martin.

I think his measurements and defensive ability most remind me of Bronny James. They are probably identical from a frame perspective.

Skill-wise, I think if the shooting hits he can be like Deuce/Miles McBride from NY who is only a year older than Martin.

Martin has the ferocity of a Westbrook.

Sam Vecenie also mentioned that he had heard that Alijah had a dominant workout.

Obviously, no one is going to come out and say directly, but has anyone heard any rumours about who the other 3 guys in the workout were with him?

Read on Twitter

Vecenie said he outplayed the player he was going against, not the other 3 guys. I'm guessing the player is Egor Demin who went 8th because it doesn't mean much to say that Martin outplayed Chucky Hepburn who was always projected to go in the 2nd round or undrafted.

I finally saw the first game and saw his poster dunk and near-poster dunk. He has that next level explosiveness. This SL there has been a few great dunks, but I love watching smaller guards catching bodies like Martin. He is going to be a fun rookie.

Will Lou said in the interview it was Martin + another first rounder going against two guys who were drafted in the 2nd, so that rules out Demin

Martin also said he knew the guy pretty well, so it’s probably one of the 4 year seniors like Kam Jones or Sion James

I haven't heard the Will Lou interview you refer to. Can you share a link?

The quote that “He significantly outplayed the player he was going against” could refer to Demin if "going against" means comparing the two guys as point guards and not comparing them playing 1v1. This is my interpretation.

Again, why would it be noteworthy if Martin outplayed a 2nd round pick?

Great interview. I like this guy.

Gives me Demar vibes. Chill, easy going, genuine/ real. Kind.of an old soul.

Both of them are extremely hard workers too. Just focused and task driven.

It's the interview WuTang posted earlier in the thread.

& a good workout is a good workout. Dominating your competition is still impressive whether it's a first round pick or a second round pick. Especially for a guy who wasn't in the Top 60 on a lot of draft boards

Welcome to the Raptors Alijah. Get used to total BS calls like the ones you got from that game 3 bump in summer league. It seems like the refs hate the Raptors.

I think the ref emphasis is on potential for injury. Boo Buie and Martin went for a ball and Martin was a touch late and it ended with Buie leaving the game.

I think I understand the logic because Buie got hurt. I don't think they call it in the reg season but this was a physical game with Liddell provoking fights. They want to set a tone with young players.

Overall refs just need to make calls on the spot and not rely on reviews so much. Trust your gut and move on not make it a 10 min review. Every other sport doesn't have this review problem that the NBA has.
