Dallas Undos a Wrong w/Chi & Utah
Dallas Gets: Coby White, KJ Martin, Zach Collins, 2026 Chi/PDX FRP (More or Least Favorable, you guys decide what's fair)
Chi Gets: Anthony Davis, Caleb Martin, Brandon Williams
Utah Gets: Kevin Huerter
Chi gets the best player in the deal, their hometown star. AD should be able to slot in nicely with Buz and Vuc in the starting lineup. Bring back Giddey to pair with Ayo, and they have a solid starting 5. Utah gets a guard who spreads the floor and expires after this year. Dallas rights a wrong when they got AD. WHite is a much better fit with Flagg both on the court and age-wise wise and they save a ton of money. Dallas should then look to trade Collins for whatever makes sense.

For this return, I’d just convince AD to say he needs to wear an eye patch until February and just tank with him and Ky on the bench. Next season Lively, Flagg and Peterson get to develop in a nice easy environment.
If Chicago/Dallas want to talk about Coby/LAL first, I think you could justify the risk for Dallas..

Yea wasn't sure if Chi would give another first or even a plethora of 2nds, but I understand the talent downgrade. But I really like the cost savings and WHite's fit and availability over AD. Though I def wouldn't give the LAL FRP and then have to pay white while having all the other contracts we already have.

That part I didnt know so that would very likely take them out. But deal still works CBA wise with Huerter going to Dallas and keeping it 2 teams for now

I think this trade make sense for the Mavs, except gathering two many 5 and 3. But all those players coming back is expiring. The Mavs could be more cap healthy in a long run.

Re: Dallas Undos a Wrong w/Chi & Utah
I don't see DAL thinking getting 1/2 of what the Bulls got for Zack Lavine plus 1 year of Coby White for what they got in exchange for Luka as any kind of a deal.
What good is a 30 year old Martin to the Bulls when they still have Okoro, Williams and Phillips? The Bulls end up worse off with
Giddey Jones
Okoro Dosunmu
Vucevic Smith
Davis Williams
Buzelis

How good would Portland be if they could turn Grant, Yang, Thybulle, future picks into AD? Some center desperate third team getting Yang+Grant so Dallas takes back less salary..
AD/Deni/Jrue with Clingan, Camara, Sharpe and Scoot.

Re: Dallas Undos a Wrong w/Chi & Utah
White is not a better fit with Flagg on the court than AD. I understand position wise and play style why someone would say that, but we're talking about a guy top 10-15 in the league and someone who might not be top 10-15 at their position. There's levels to this.
I'm surprised to see a DAL fan post this because this is an absolutely absurdly low valuation of AD.

Top 15 guy, maybe, that's debatable. But what 7th highest paid player in the league? The guy sits out more games than almost anyone in the entire association, whines about playing center, and is just soft as can be. I'd prefer to get out from under that contract if possible. This deal may not be the right one I can concede that, but AD should be traded.

Re: Dallas Undos a Wrong w/Chi & Utah
I think Dal-Chi would be
White, ZCollins, JCarter, Terry, Port 1st, 2026 unprotected Bulls 1st-MAYBE that’s enough for AD
Dallas saves a bunch of $, adds a nice fit with White and a few picks. The other contracts are expiring
Bulls go for it with
Ayo/TJones
Giddy/Okoro
Matas/Huerter
AD/PWill
Vuc/JSmith
Phillips as 11th man

AD averaged 61 games played over the last three seasons while Luka averaged 62 in that same span. I get that the Mavs made a catastrophic trade and fans are still processing the fallout, but AD is absolutely a top 15 player when healthy and impactful on both ends in ways very few are. Trading him for pennies on the dollar would be a mistake (trading him for sufficient value, otoh, is prudent).

He played half a game for the Mavs before going out for 6 weeks or so. He's just way too soft

A MAVS fan posted this? Damn I guess this guy has an axe to grind against AD. This is a horrifying return for a top 20 player in the league... even if you want to get rid of him (and I can understand arguments for that) I think you can get more back.

Perfect, AD is gone.
Oh wait- they still don't have their transcendent superstar point guard who lead them to the finals? He's still gone?
So what wrong is righted here? Is the problem that they GOT AD, or that they lost Luka? Surely it's the latter, right? I'm so confused right now.

It's that he lasted all of half a game. It's his whining about playing the 5 even though he's freakin 7 feet tall. I have no issue with trading Luka, the guy was immature and undisciplined, but to get a guy who cares even less was just criminal

Utah should be taken out. Huerter is expensive and bad.

I feel like Chicago owes a lot in OP. Too much for them to be willing to pay honestly.
I wouldn’t want to give up a distant unprotected first for Coby either since he realistically can’t resign… but as for the financials?
If you can replace Klay/Hardy/Martin’s money with Coby next season, say 26-30 mil? - you can keep PJ under the second apron which leaves Dallas with a really strong top 9 if Flagg is as good as everyone hopes... And the team is too big a mess to think about 2027-2028 salary issues.. (only half green font)

Re: Dallas Undos a Wrong w/Chi & Utah
Josh Giddey wants 30M per. Do Chicago still intends to extend him? I think this is too much for Giddey. Brunson only gets 28M per. I think it is somewhere around 12- 14M per. Coby White is on max pursuit as well. I have some concerns about his defense and effectiveness against playoff level defense. At 40M, Ja Morant is way more proven. I also hesitate about paying too much for White.
