I hope we can effectively push a little more this year. Our pace is questionable.

Where tf are tkf's keys to the game.

I need the update of the French youth. Cause I'm a terrible fan who keeps missing these games. My priorities are all fcked up. Can't even really call myself a fan if im missing the start of the careers that are going to turn this franchise into the greatest dynasty the nba has ever seen.

I know a lot of us hated the slow roll up the floor. The half court sets that had no creativity. The overall laziness of the offensive scheme. It was very predictable and slow.

If we wanna pace and space then KAT plays the 5 and Deuce needs to start IMO.

McCullar looks like he could be a real player. I'm not sure about his outside shot or 3 pt shooting, which he'll need to develop, but he looks like an NBA player and has the athleticism. At least a bench piece.

Dadiet is very smooth and he might have an NBA shot including 3 pointers, but we need to see more. He doesn't even turn 20 for another 11 days. Again, we might be looking at a bench player this year, but there's some long term upside. He's also on a guaranteed contract for this coming season.

They're different types of players. McCullar is the type who can drive through trafic and create two points. Dadiet is more of the quiet type who, if he's left unguarded, will cut to the basket for an easy two. He doesn't have McCullar's handles, but he's got a smoother jumpshot and he can spread the floor some and when they stand together, you can see that Dadiet is taller too. How good his shot is remains to be seen and ultimately, he needs to be a shooter or he won't contribute much on the NBA level. His shot looks smooth. I think he could be maybe a high 30s percent shooter in the NBA. I think he's a potential plus 6th man type if he develops well. But it's early. Time will tell.

Interestingly both Dadiet & McCullar didn't play against the Nets. Maybe the team has seen enough and wants to look at other options for their 2-way spots.

Huk is Huk. Energetic big man, active on defense. Sets screens. Doesn't look to score, but can take a pass and shoot or dunk if needed. His contract is not guaranteed, but I think he's safe.

Kolek is more of a question. He's on a guaranteed deal this year, but I think his play has led the Knicks to think maybe PG, not SF with their final roster spot. He played better game 3 and he had 20 points in the first half, but . . . grain of salt. It's summer league. I but I don't think he's given the Knicks confidence with his play so far and NY needs a back-up PG, unless you think Clarkson or McBride can do it.

It looks like they might have done well drafting Diawara. He's a work in progress, a few months older than Dadiet, despite being one of the younger draftees this year. Athletic, energetic, 6'9 small forward type. He's raw, but the building blocks are there. Maybe for Nnaji too, who's also just 20 but several months older than Diawara, if you think age matters (when players are that young, I think it does).

I'm not ready to say they don't "suck" because they've looked like a bad team at least in the games I saw, but there's some potential upside in some of the players.

Just my 2 cents. It's not all bad, but there are some questions on whether these guys will provide the minutes they need off the bench this year.

Dink Pate is the youngest on the roster, maybe the youngest in the entire SL and he's and not close to ready. He's younger than Dadiet, by about 7 months. He's got G league development written all over him. I don't think any team anywhere is going to offer him a 2-way deal, but I'd love to see him in Westchester for a year and see what he can do there. The athleticism and hustle are good, the decision making not so much and the shot is made up of bricks. He's really skinny too. He makes Mikal Bridges look chunky by comparison. I'm rooting for him, but I think a 2-way deal is out of the question.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

Reading this is so much more enjoyable than actually watching SL. Thank you!

No. Thibs died from running a game plan that stopped being effective in January and he never adjusted. Brunson was doing Thibs bidding. Acting like it's Brunson who was the problem is ridiculous. Thibs never adjusted. He never tried anything different until Brunson got hurt. Then went away from everything as soon as he got Brunson back. Even though Mikal and OG were playing better when the ball moved more.

The offense was stagnant for months before we even made the playoffs. It was struggling to get wins and they ran out of time because Thibs never found an answer to teams putting their center on Hart . Funny though when you look at the numbers and realize he could have simply started Deuce and things would be better.

Thibs got Thibs fired. Plain as day. There's no conspiracy. There's no one else to blame.

come on, man. -JVG

now we’re losing the plot.

crean’s comments were from the SL game broadcast, but this does not need to become a general thibs/brunson discussion.

can continue that line of discussion in the thibs firing thread. thanks.

thanks for everything, thibs.
