He definitely does.

he absolutely does not, dont sell OG short here. One of the things that made him special defensively is his insane foot speed/lateral quickness which is incredibly uncommon for someone his size.

I think the difference isn't as huge as CMB looks like he knows how to play the angles really well and quick and long arms and hands, he's just fast and strong enough to get away with it but ya elite quick guards would be hard on anyone in the league except for maybe a couple of guys that size.

CMB is the better defender.

Brother - I'm basing it off the opinion of professional scouts and draft analysts who have been calling CMB, the next Draymond Green, and many of whom labelled him as the best defensive prospect in this stacked draft class.

Even if you want to disregard their opinions, just look at their numbers in college. CMB had better defensive metrics across the board than OG.

It's tough to compare the 2, OG was guarding wings and guards while CMB was guarding bigs but could switch on smaller players. Not apples to apples imo.

Lol you're gonna disregard years of OG playing all-NBA level defense in the NBA in favor of CMB's college stats and draft comps?

im loving cmb's big thick behind, hes strong and thick everywhere and he uses it to carve up space inside for post ups and rebounds, he could be great in both areas as he develops

Man i feel like him and scottie play a similar game, its gonna be special to play them both together eventually. I think CMB will be a fine enough corner 3 point shooter when open, enough to play with Scottie in the front court. On defense they'll wreak havoc with their interchangeability.

Im legit excited to see whats next and i havent been in a few years

It occurs to me that this is a tough environment for someone like CMB to really excel. His basketball super power is anticipating player/ball movement within an opposing offense. But summer league is a disorganized free for all. It was telling he didn't seem to know where to go in 1st half.

Summer league is often very guard focused, since guys are looking to solidify there place on a team or find a place on a team, guards will look for their own offense at the expense of team play. CMB will look even better on our actual team when we're playing real basketball.

His upper half mechanics are perfectly fine. In fact it looks rather smooth.

It’s his lower half, it’s like non existent. He’s getting 0 lift from his lower half, his shot is all upper body which leads to a lot of airballs from the mid range and 3.

He needs to somehow realign his body into one smooth motion of energy transferring from the feet and up into the release. He’s got the summer to fix it, no doubt Darko and the training staff have pointed it out to him.

CMB will learn from RJ because they're both Lefty's, RJ gets a good base all the time when he is shooting. CMB is too upright & holds the ball too close to his body on the catch & gather. He has a smooth release tho & gets a lot of arc of his 3. His form at the line is good too

box score said 0 steals, but I thought he had 3. Him poking the ball loose to another player should give him the steal.

He’s so disruptive and it’s rare you see guys intercept passes from the guy they are directly guarding. Shows you how quick and strong his hands are.

CMB can never be accused of just standing around on D. He is following the ball wherever it swings. It is like having a 6th defender out there.
