Tangential, but I once jumped through a flaming hoop on skis while wearing a moose costume…
As far as Brads drafting, jury is still out. There have been three picks between 28-40, Walsh, Scheierman and Hugo.
In realtime there were guys I liked better than Scheierman, but he has already outplayed his draft position. Walsh has as well…though barely.
Hugo seems like a very high potential guy so I have hope there.
I didn’t like how we handled pick 32 this year. Will be interesting to see how some of those guys we could have had shape out. There were 3-4 guys Id have loved.

I worked an Sugarloaf as a ski instructor in 1999-2000. Also was Amos the Moose from time to time. They did an annual torchlight parade ( skiers carrying big glow sticks, looks pretty cool from a distance) on new years. The Moose was part of the parade and he just had to jump through the ring of fire at the bottom. Luckily no injuries.
Sadly no video evidence.

Gonzalez had a pretty bad game. I think I'll forget about Shulga's existence in a matter of days. Scheierman had an OK all-around game but his shooting is still erratic. Walsh was completely out of character, I wonder what the heck was going on with him. Charles "Shirley" Bassey had his worst game of the SL so far (but almost posted a double-double).

To my surprise, the offense seemed to flow better when Lofton was on the court.

The C's were -15 while Lofton was out there last night. Only Hugo was worse.

+13 for Lofton vs Miami. +14 vs NY. +13 vs Memphis. Somebody spoke to him and told him to make an adjustment, and he did. There's a player in there. His path to improvement is physical.

Ah, jeez. My error.

What is Stevens waiting for, with Bassey?
At the very least, give him an Exhibit 10.

Bassey will at least somewhat solve the rebounding issue.

Brad needs to sign Bassey.

Why is it on Stevens? Bassey is a FA, he's there for the taking for all 30 NBA teams.

FA started signing with teams 31 days ago. He's been sitting there for any one of the 30 NBA teams to sign for over a month now. This isn't a Brad thing.

Bassey could sign with any of the 30 teams..but all 30 teams are passing on him.

Maybe because NBA teams are smart and know that summer league means very little with regards to how these guys project as NBA players. And NBA teams know to not be moved by a 24 yr old big with 4 years of NBA experience under his belt playing well against a weak summer league competition.

Also, we don't usually see many exhibit 10 signings this early in the offseason. This time of year, teams are typically more focused on moves like trades, signing FA to standard contracts, making any coaching hires, signing their draft picks, maybe signing some 2-way guys.

The exhibit 10 signings don't usually happen until right before training camp starts. This year, training camp starts October 1, so we'll probably see exhibit 10 deals picking up in September..maybe a little bit towards the end of August.

This early in the offseason, teams have bigger fish to fry..they know that exhibit 10 guys are usually a long shot to make the team and if they do, they are probably just gonna be garbage time players..exhibit 10's are like the least important moves teams make each offseason so those types of moves usually come at the end of the offseason, right before camp starts - after the more important roster moves have been made.

I’d like Lofton to get one of the designated g league contracts. Seems like a guy that would have a two way already if it was offered so just let him work his way up without being in the 17 man group. He’s still pretty young even though he’s been around the league awhile.

Am I supposed to be impressed he managed to score when the guy that was playing "defense" on him kept running away ? Any half decent NBA rim protector would have sent that shot back into the third row. Besides if the Celtics wanted to move up to 16th to draft Yang there were far less painful ways to do it than trading White.

Draft picks like Walsh and Gonzalez are designed to show impact 3-5 years after they are drafted. Celtics know this when they draft them. The trick is to still be patient through the process. So far the Celtics have done that.

Even 19yo picks are not intended to only show impact 5 years out.

Said it a while back - Lofton is my Binky and I hope he gets a spot on the team. He is the most talented big on our SL team and more talented than some of our current bigs (no big competition there). He can play the 4 effectively for 10-15-20 minutes
Aussies can make miracles with him. Can be a Barkley type player off the bench

One thing about Lofton that impressed me is he has poise.

Knows when to pass, shoot, and dribble.

He's worth a shot.

I have Lofton's 1-on-5 play, complete with passes to nowhere when forced, from the first game seered into my mind. Don't think I can get beyond that, so I hope Brad can't either. But an Exhibit 10 wouldn't shock me at this point. It would have after the first two games. They really don't need him mucking up Amari's play in Maine this year either.
