Lebron wanted Lue hired, Caruso re-signed, Dudley re-signed, trade for Kyrie, the JHS pick traded for win now players. AD wanted a center for like four seasons.
Rob had no problem saying no to Klutch. They're just a convenient scapegoat for his inability to construct a contending roster.
Lue got hired by the Lakers and didn't like his contract length in the offer. He got a better offer with the clippers.
Caruso or THT was a choice . The klutch guy that never showed much got the overpaid . Surprise surprise.
Dudley retired. Not like he went to another team
Nets said no to Kyrie going to the Lakers. Was reported the Nets owner was against sending him to the Lakers.
AD is not Lebron, we are not counting his demands in this context
Lakers inability to construct a roster is heavily tied to the Westbrook trade and letting Caruso go for nothing.
Lakers traded KCP, Kuzma and a first for Westbrook, traded a first to dump him for essentially Vandy in the long term.
And it's the Lakers way to cater to stars. They been catering to stars for 40 years and all of a sudden they go against their philosophy when they get LeBron? Make it make sense.
LeBron saved a franchise from spiraling away. Of course they catered to his wants.
At some point , we have to call a spade a spade. Lebron helped and hurt the lakers can both be true, Did similar things with his time with the Cavs
Next y'all going to be telling me it was Rob and not LeBron as the reason the Lakers were able to get AD
You're just wrong on the THT vs Caruso part.
LeBron wanted both, Rob wanted THT over Caruso.
LeBron had a demand to get a playmaker like Rondo that could start. Rob went off to get Schroeder and offered 80/4 to keep him, he then went and traded for Westbrook. LeBron and Davis were part of this move for sure.
Rob paid 2 SRPs to choose DLo over Conley in the Westbrook trade.
You'll see with Pelinka staying on, a bunch more poor moves.
