Tradesies Backsies - Chi orlando

Post#1 » by Saul Goodman » Wed Jul 16, 2025 2:45 pm

To Chicago
Jett Howard
Wendell Carter
3 2nds

To Orlando
Nicola Vucevic

The bulls get a young guy to have a look at in Howard and a few seconds. The goal is to try and tank for one of the top franchise guys in 2026

Orlando goes for the East. Vuc has no future salary implications and he adds more shooting and offense to the lineup. Suggs/Bane/Franz/paolo/vuc is an amazing team

I think WCJ is straight up more valuable than Vooch at this point.

Wendell is younger, locked up longterm and a much better fit than Vuc. Not only that, but Mo Wagner does a lot of what Nikola does at a fraction of the cost.

Orlando wouldn’t even consider a straight swap unless incentive was attached.

Nikola at this stage of career is a buyout candidate.

Chicago really dropped the ball and has a reputation for holding on to players for wayyyy too long. Vuc, Coby, Lavine the list goes on.

The Magic could probably learn from a steady veteran like Vucevic. I can't see Carter being happy about returning to CHI where he started, he would come in as the 4th option at best and it's not like he contributes leadership or anything from his time in ORL. He's a more active defender than Vuc but hardly a big rim protector and he's not even as much of a stretch threat. Jett is a contract and wouldn't play ahead of Terry or even Carter

Vuc is expiring and WCJ doesn't have near the trade value ascribed to him after being given that extension. I think the Magic should jump at this before Banchero's extension kicks in just from a flexibility standpoint.

With Paolo’s looming extension, taking on an expiring is the opposite of strategic….Vuc expires and ORL still doesn’t have the means to replace him. I’d be happy to have Vuc back but he’s not better or more valuable (to ORL) than WCJ…adding draft equity just makes it even more unrealistic

Vuc played great last season. He’s been mis-used on awfully constructed Bulls rosters since the trade so he’s underrated today.

They'll still have Isaac, Mo, and Goga. They'll have Black to trade. I don't have seconds as a deal breaker in one direction or the other.

However, f WCJ shoots his career average from 3 this upcoming season, or worse yet gets injured and misses a bunch of games, again, I think you'll find that potential trade partners don't view him as valuable at all at his new AV.

same can be said about mitchell whats your point? and just about all nba players...hmmm ...you make a great point magic should worry about trade value for a guy they want and dump him while they still can

If Mitchell shoots his career average from 3 next season, he'll have great trade value. If Mitchell gets hurt and misses 30 games next season, he'll still have great trade value. The same can not be said of WCJ. Anyway, you clearly view WCJ as an asset even after his extension. Good luck.

If there is one fanbase that wouldn't underrate Vuc, it is Orlando. Most of us still love the guy. If you buy him out, I would hope the Magic bring him back at a min and let him retire here.

That said WCJ is the better player for our team and younger. Paolo also loves playing next to him, as he has said repeatedly in interviews and why Goga comes off the bench.
