Seems like he would also have to change his personality. For some people who don't regularly convey humility, it can be a hard thing to age.

The silence from Joel and the team is pretty deafening.

I’ve mentally written off an Embiid return. Unfortunately, I think his knees are cooked & I would focus on maintaining some semblance of long-term mobility if I were him. Just take the money and go live a good life at this point.

I honestly forget he’s even on the team sometimes.

Feels like the retirement tweet is a year or two away honestly.

It was so obvious to trade him after he collapsed against Boston. Didnt even show up in game 7. Then Daryl extends him after his injures his menicus and is clearly hobbled.

He sits out the year, then the team applies for medical retirement next summer.

I would hope this would be followed up rather quickly with a PG trade.

I think Jo pretty much confirmed that it was Gordon who leaked the Maxey-Embiid thing earlier in the season. I doubt it was Lowry or Oubre.

That was a tough read. Paints a pretty dark picture over the course of his career.

Seems to me the best path forward for all parties is just for him to sit out the year and then get medically retired.

He really is one of us. He hates Boston and the 76ers have destroyed his mental and physical health. I've never felt more represented.

he wants to play tho or at the very least go out on better terms

plus you just know people would say he quit...Jo seems to be a guy who cares about how he is talked about or seen...especially when its not factual. Don't think he ever will just retire unless his next injury is a real serious one and even then.

Overall a very depressing read. I feel bad for Embiid- he’s had a difficult life and carries personal baggage that makes relationships difficult for him. But it’s also very frustrating to read about his lack of accountability for his personal habits, the ways he’s self-sabotaged, and the way he isolates himself when challenged.
