As far as Brads drafting, jury is still out. There have been three picks between 28-40, Walsh, Scheierman and Hugo.
In realtime there were guys I liked better than Scheierman, but he has already outplayed his draft position. Walsh has as well…though barely.
Hugo seems like a very high potential guy so I have hope there.
I didn’t like how we handled pick 32 this year. Will be interesting to see how some of those guys we could have had shape out. There were 3-4 guys Id have loved.

Were you drunk?.. :D Video proof would be fun!

Stone cold sober.
I worked an Sugarloaf as a ski instructor in 1999-2000. Also was Amos the Moose from time to time. They did an annual torchlight parade ( skiers carrying big glow sticks, looks pretty cool from a distance) on new years. The Moose was part of the parade and he just had to jump through the ring of fire at the bottom. Luckily no injuries.
Sadly no video evidence.

Saw this post quick and the thought popped into my head that the Sorber/sober headlines and nicknames will be a hoot.

Random useless fact.
Jordan Walsh is younger than 15 of the top 45 draft picks this year and within 4 months of 2 others.
I hope we don’t waive this guy for Lilliard.

I don't think Joe would mind having a cheap enforcer/goon club deep in his bag this season.

Wait for him to play with real players again!! Real offense and defensive system. Though the SL team is doing some things we will be, it’s not being done by the guys that are top-tier at it. I have high hopes for him after what he was doing at the end of last season!

Celtics fans are going to look back in the future and wish White was traded to Toronto, so the Celtics could have used their Lottery Pick to take Yang...

Am I supposed to be impressed he managed to score when the guy that was playing "defense" on him kept running away ? Any half decent NBA rim protector would have sent that shot back into the third row. Besides if the Celtics wanted to move up to 16th to draft Yang there were far less painful ways to do it than trading White.

I would have gladly taken Yang Hansen at #32. Seemed risky as first rounder but Portland has been tracking him for a while and they took the risk. Hope it pans out, he is fun to watch!

No way. Tillman and Davison are expendable, but I want The Instigaterator to stick around for the payoff year.

Man, you can tell Amari has really good feel for the game. Rare for a rookie to read the game at this high of a level.

Baylor Scheierman, when first drafted, I thought was more of a shooter with a bit of play-making ability. Now it seems like he has switched to more of a play-maker but less of a shooter.

I highlighted "It seems" because it is still early in his career.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

There is no patience with our rookies and I hope it will change. And I hope they will get a real chance
See Nesmith. Drafted as a shooter. Became a great hustle player and defender. Then the shooting came back

Patience. Roco shot very well the second half of the season last year

And it is great he possesses an all around game. Shooting will come back

Agreed. Scheierman needs more playing time. A little more time in Maine should help, too.
I see him as a Rotation guy. Just needs bit of patience.

I.e.:
Avery Bradley went down to the then D-League, came back and eventually became a Starter.
Took over Ray Allen's spot.

He shot 41% from 3 in the g-league last year. SL is nothing.

Nesmith stinks.

Had the typical great college year, his college coach (not a very good one) hyped him up, DA bit and he became a lottery pick.

He shot 41% from 3 in the g-league last year. SL is nothing.

1) Not sure where you're getting that stat from. Per RealGM, he played 25 total G league games last season, shooting 37.9% from 3

2) G league is known for inflated stats because the style of play there is like pickup games, open run, AAU type of style with very little defense.

We constantly see random scrubs who can't get make an NBA team go off for 25+ points in the G. And final scores are often like 148-131.

3) Baylor has played in 4 different settings now in a Celtic uniform..here's how I'd rank them in terms of defensive intensity, competitiveness and level of competition:

NBA reg season
NBA preseason
NBA Summer League (2024 and 2025)
G league

4) Looking at his updated shooting numbers for the settings where actual defense is played:

2025 summer league, 3 games: 6/28 (21.4%) from 3
24-25 NBA season, 31 games: 26/82 (31.7%) from 3
24-25 preseason, 5 games: 3/17 (17.6%) from 3
2024 summer league, 5 games: 10/34 (29.4%) from 3
Total, 44 games: 45/161 (27.9%) from 3

Yes, that's a small sample size. Yes, these 3 pt numbers are on good volume and having high volume is typically an indicator that the guy will be able to shoot it at least fairly well. Yes, he's (for the most part) been a good FT shooter and yes he was a good shooter in college.

However, he'll be 25 years old soon..he's no spring chicken. It is somewhat concerning to see a sample size this big of him being such a poor shooter from 3, given that was supposed to be one of his biggest strengths as a prospect when we drafted him - possibly the biggest strength (supposedly).
