His wife is from LA and that’s where they met. They also have business dealings there so it was just an easy decision for them.

Jaquez is not getting minutes in front of Highsmith, and Larsson probably isn't either. I wouldn't even be surprised if Highsmith starts for some stretches of the year either due to injury or because Spo starts yanking Ware's leash.
If that’s the case we should be shopping Jaime as a sweetener with Rozier.
It'll be interesting to see what happens because Highsmith will be a FA after this season and seems to have value around the league. I don't think he gets MLE money, but I'd guess he gets offers in the $8-$10M/year range. Not sure if Miami wants to give him that kind of money. It reminds me a bit of the Bruce Bowen situation many moons ago.
As for Jaquez, his value is probably on the lower end given he saw limited minutes last year and he is "old" relative to younger prospects. He's still going to be on a rookie deal for a couple more years and would allow Miami to maintain solid depth without having to commit tons of money. Not sure Miami is ready to move off of him this year, especially if Miami continues to pursue a Wiggins trade and plans to let Highsmith walk.
We should 100% trade Highsmith. I think he's got some value given his ability to slot in and be a legit 3 and D guy on most contenders.
Miami / Chicago / London

Wonder if the Bulls would be interested in something like Highsmith, Rozier, and 2nd rd pick for Vucevic and Carter

Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.5
What do you think about doubling down on scoring and going after DeRozan with the Rozier and JJJ package? We would be trading in a young player in JJJ but also adding a 20 point scorer off the bench to compliment the addition of Powell. DeRozan and Powell are close too
Rozier
JJJ
2d rd pick
to Kings for
SF Demar DeRozan
SG Keon Ellis
Savings of 3.4 million giving us 2 million under the tax line enough to sign a minimum salaried free agent to fill the 15th spot.

As a last resort I’m not against it, it adds talent at least and gets Terry out of here. I don’t value Jaime

I have a feeling we are heading into the portion of the summer of last resorts starting to take shape. JJJ would become the instant starter on the Kings at SF. I added the addition of Keon Ellis to the deal. Brings us 3.4 million in savings with money under the line to sign 15th man which I hope is Richaun Holmes. DeRozan off the bench would be a huge weapon

PG/SG Tyler Herro PG Davion Mitchell PG Kasparas Jakucionis
That's a lot of firepower and no excuses to have the scoring droughts that we had last year.

Led Team USA to gold and people (mainly Heat fans) will try to tell you with a straight face that he isn’t the best player in the world.

If we eliminate majority of the scoring droughts, and play the right combos, and have the correct hierarchy were a completely different team

Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.5
DeMar DeRozan and Norman Powell are former Toronto Raptors teammates known for their strong bond and mentorship relationship. DeRozan, a veteran, took Powell, a young player, under his wing, offering guidance and support as Powell developed his NBA career. Powell often credits DeRozan with helping him navigate the challenges of being a professional basketball player.

Sneaky good quality team that has scoring and we can go defensively too with Haywood and Keon torture chamber on the wings. Very well rounded

Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.5
The problem with JJJ is that as of today he is not a positive asset. He just had a horrible year and is on the older side for a rookie. Maybe he has a bounce back season but right now his value is worse that Terry because at least Terry is an expiring.

Perhaps no one ever taught you this… but what and how you say things matter. You then wonder why people give you flank about Bam… you instigate people pointing out Bam’s flaws to offset your over-evaluations of Bam and then call them out as haters of Bam. That’s bait and switch.
“Best player in the world”.
