Re: Shams: Beal to Clippers official
No harm no foul for LAC> Honestly would have preferred Mavs did this vs signing D-Lo since the contract is nearly identical

Could end up being a steal for LAC. Wonder if that's a 1+PO or a straight 2 year deal?

Takes the place of Norm Powell, joining John Collins as a new addition.

Clippers deft at staying relevant.
Harden - Beal - Kawhi - Collins - Zubac is pretty competitive in my opinion.

Beal at 50 million sucks, but Beal at 5.5 million is great. I mean he was still very efficient in Phoenix

A bench of Brook / Nico / DJJ / Bogdan / Dunn / (Chris Paul) is really nice as well..
Really nicely built team.

Re: Shams: Beal to Clippers official
I have the Clippers winning the off-season.
Beal for all the hate on an insane contract with a NTC, is a better basketball player than Powell. And he's spent the last several years playing without a real pg on a team with 3 iso guys, now he moves to a team with Harden. He's going to sleep his way to another 50-40-80 season.
Collins/Lopez are huge pick ups for a team that badly needed size up front. Kawhi/Batum/Zubac was the 4-5 rotation in the post-season. Lopez maybe old, but he's probably the best backup center in the league.
3 contenders IMO going into next year - Denver, OKC, Clippers.

I don't disagree with anything you said, I just think it's an amusing sign of how his career has changed that Harden is now being presented in contrast to "iso guys" when Rockets Harden was maybe the most iso-heavy player the NBA has ever seen

Credit to Harden for rebranding his game. Went from 40% usage to sub 30% 5 years in a row. 20-25 shots per game, to 14-16. It's hard to blame him for those houston teams though. Capela, Gordon, Tucker, Ariza, Gerald Green, Nene, Ryan Anderson (and Cp3) was the roster the year they lost in WCF

Oh no blame to Harden, those Rockets teams were explicitly designed around him being an iso god. And he was incredible at it.

Re: Shams: Beal to Clippers official
Those Harden offenses were about as good as any we had ever seen up to that time. Morey and Harden pushed analytic shot selection to extremes nobody had yet and it worked a treat. Harden hasn't proved as playoff resilient as hoped, but as a regular season offensive engine? He's up there with anyone we have ever seen. Be that Mike, Nash, Lebron, Steph, you name him.
Clippers doing a better job taking advantage of being in LA is really remarkable and shows how much organizations matter. Ballmer's money and Frank and Lue building on that. Lakers with a poverty-pleading Buss family with Pelinka and a revolving door haven't done as well.
Now they are the Lakers so Lebron still chose them and the inevitable of Luka Doncic arriving happened ahead of schedule, but they should have Laker advantages plus and they've had Laker advantages minus. Clippers with none of the history to draw out are outperforming them in the cheap salary market which frankly should never be.

Clippers definitely win the off-season but Denver did great too. Add Houston as a contender too getting KD for scraps.

Yea those are the 3 + ATL that I had doing the best.
Den and LAC was already an incredible series. Both got better.

I think you gotta throw Houston in the mix as well. 2 seed from last year and added KD for scraps, plus a couple other solid rotation guys.
