Re: PF targets
Boston and Indy should tank out the season while their stars take the full year to recover. With a little lotto luck they could land a top 4 draft pick to a healthy returning superstar.

Re: PF targets
There has been writings that Horford doesn't want to go to the west coast. Also western conference is a meat grinder. If he wants to stay in the East, outside of Atlanta where he played for many years, I think we could make a compelling bid if we gave him more years - he could be the longer term wily vet when Toby walks or is traded at the TDL.
Or he could just be waiting for Kuminga to be dealt.

Can they sign and trade Kuminga with Moody(maybe Heild too) for Lebron?
That would be wild
Horford Green LeBron Jimmy Curry lol

That would have to be the oldest starting roster in the league! Maybe all-time?!

Over the Hill Houston Rockets Barkley/Hakeem/Pippen/Drexler all over again

TPA wrote:By my math, Indiana would have exceeded the cap and had a top-10 team payroll IF Turner had accepted their offer. Indiana probably made the calculation that they didn't need to bid against themselves and go as high as Milwaukee eventually was able to, in order to retain him. If Milwaukee hadn't made the unprecedented decision to waive/stretch Lillard to create the cap-space to make the offer that they did for Miles service, he'd probably be back with Indiana for 3 more years.
Indiana would've been in the tax, but nothing more. The owner didn't want to pay the tax.

Pippen and Drexler never played at the same time in Houston.

Ah good call, clearly blending my pinstripe Rockets teams together.
My memory is dog ****.

Still had the general idea. The Hakeem/Barkley Rockets (whether they had old Drexler or Pippen) were a collection of past prime guys.
Horry and Cassell were their only rotation players stilll fairly young and they dropped them for a failed old man title run. They underestimated how much Barkley would fall off.

TPE for PF Grant Williams could be good for both teams.

Horford is 39. Nobody is giving him a significant multi-year deal, the Pistons included, and I doubt he'd be hot on spending one of his final seasons (or perhaps his final season) playing small bench minutes when he could get a more significant role elsewhere.

I believe Ausar has more value than Markkanen right now, and that will only be more lopsided as the season starts.Piston Pete wrote:Would Ausar/Harris be enough to get us Markennen?

I wish you were right….that way we’d be able to get more out of the Jazz.
Unfortunately, I believe the majority of the NBA would put more value on Lauri.
I’d be happy to be wrong here.

Re: PF targets
Best “low-cost” option IMO is the Buck’s Tyler Smith.
Next would be Minnesota’s Leonard Miller
Others:
Taylor Hendricks
Grant Williams
How attainable would GG Jackson be now that Memphis locked up both Aldama and JJJ long-term?

I irrationally love the idea of GG Jackson as our missing piece at PF.
I’d give up a 1st round pick for him.

GG has played only 77 games, missed most of this past season due to an injury, couldn't stay in the rotation after his return, and got DNPed in the postseason.
A first seems like a steep price to pay for him.

Agreed….I think a 1st would be an overpay.
He’d cost more than Tyler Smith or Leonard Miller….but how much more?

Also said the love was irrational…
He looked great as a rookie, struggled last year per his injury. He’s also 20 years old, and they aren’t gonna give him to us for nothing.
How about a protected first?
