Can’t remember the last time the Clippers looked this good on paper from a lineup construction perspective.

Their defense leaves alot to be desired though looking at that starting 5. Harden and Beal do not offer much resistance. I think Collins is maybe average defensively….but i still like the addition to give the Clips some shooting with the trade of Powell.

for all the crap beal has solid production, hes nowhere worth 50 but is worth 15 at least per production, getting him for 5 is steal

he shoulda went to a contender but some people never cared about winning and wants to live at the place they prefer

I for one am looking forward to buying myself two new Phoenix Suns jerseys to celebrate the two pillars which will maintain the team's foundation of the upcoming 5 seasons: #97 "Buyout" and #4 "Pickswaps."

When the Suns need a defensive boost off the bench next season, #97 Buyout will come in and bring some defensive toughness to the front court.

And when we need a facilitator to distribute the ball among our many shooting guards, Pickswaps will be that stabilizing influence on the court.

So is Beal.

Not necessarily. Expect Collins and Zubac to do the grunt work inside now. Harden, Beal and Kawhi are all going to up their 3Pt attempts and reduce their minutes on the court. Lots of young backups on the squad that need time on the court, if Summer League is any indication.

Beal’s been at somewhere around 32.5 MPG the last three years and he still misses 30 games.

Nah, it’s because the Clippers actually have a competent owner who isn’t a cheap, racist POS (Sterling). The Clippers would have been a draw for star players decades ago if it wasn’t for Sterling.

an owner Not being cheap doesn't always equal success. In the cases of Dolan and Ishbia, their free spending style has actually been detrimental to being successful, because they spend inefficiently. Ballmer hasn't had any success either. His big spending and shooting for the stars, cost them SGA (plus a **** load of picks to top it off)

Obviously having a free spending owner is no guarantee of success but it does signal to star players that they won’t cheap out.

The bigger point: in the past stars had 1 option when it came to playing in LA: the Lakers. Everyone wants to play in LA but no one wanted to play for Sterling. Now they have 2 options. I fully believe the Clippers are top 3-4 destination team for stars now that Sterling is no longer on the picture. Lebron and Klutch met with David Geffen about him trying to buy the Clippers and LeBron coming to LA in 2010. Kawhi chose the Clippers over the Lakers. The Clippers are a premier free agent destination. Maybe not the top choice but probably a top 3 choice.

Basically traded Norman Powell for Beal and John Collins.

Signed Brook Lopez to backup Zu.

If Kawhi stays healthy again they are my early season favorites to win it all. They are a deep team now.

It's also possible they sign CP3.

That team is too old bro. They will have injuries. It’s guaranteed. Collins also lost all his lift.

I don’t think there have been very many teams relative to the league environment that have had as much talent as the Clippers have had from the 2020 season going through next year with not even a final appearance to show for it.

He made it up.

Collins is only 27. Feels like he’s older because he’s been in the league for 8 years. He’s still had plenty of athleticism with the Jazz.

I like what the Clippers have done this off season. Health will dictate whether they’re a contender or first round exit

He dropped 28/8/6 on 50 percent in an elimination game 6 and played 47 min at 35 years old.

OMG he was bad in game 7! Yeah no sh*t, he had zero legs.

Usually teams don't get injured as much as they do, so yea, they had one healthy playoffs in that span, and it was the bubble playoffs, so yea, not surprising

Hopefully the team is capable of adapting by inserting DJJ, Dunn or Lopez into the lineup when necessary. Plenty of defense on the squad.

?

I’m not making anything up. Did he look better last year? I don’t watch any jazz games. He was non explosive the year prior and I remember posting about it on here. Assumed he looked the same since I don’t remember an injury. He was abysmal in the POs in 2023

Beal worked fine off the ball in Phoenix. His play on the court wasn't the problem. It was his contract and his time missed in relation to that contract.

Wait a minute... a player can be fine and not a problem in your system, while being at the same the player with the worst Net rating difference of your team?... Answer: no, it can't
When your team is at its worst with a specific player on the court, we can't say that this player "worked fine" or "his play wasn't a problem" because it's exactly the opposite.

It doesn't necessary mean that he's a problem, but at least that the way they used him was a problem, and actually not "a problem", but "their main problem"

Kawhi is good for 3 playoff games a year. Clippers are not contenders.

That said hopefully Beal enjoys the Hollywood lifestyle.

Zubac/Brooks/Niederhauser
Collins/Batum
Kawhi/Jones
Beal/Bogdanovic/Dunn
Harden/Paul

Old but very solid group. Could be TOP4 in the West. They lost Powell, but added 4 rotation players, who started total 231 games in last season.

Beal at that price is a bargain. Even as a disappointing third option for the suns he put up 17.6 a game on 50% from the field and 40% from three. Still an efficient scorer, and that’s all the clips need from him.

He would have to average an efficient 27 ppg to offset his traffic cone defense.
