I'd roll the dice on Simmons for the vet min. The obvious down-sides are obvious. However a safeish bet as a mediocre 10th man doesn't seem a great use of a place on the bench.

Not shoot and miss games is something he doesn't need to learn...

Damn really? Surprising that a player of his caliber could be a locker room cancer. How much pull could a guy like him have? Does he just pout a lot?

I can't believe some people still want Ben Simmons on their team.
Mental midget and always injured, please don't waste a roster spot on this guy.

So it begins Folksssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They could extend both players and go over the apron if they want to keep them right?

Mikal/Mitch for Giannis or LeBron incoming! Just called it 5 posts ago. Stay tuned!

This article doesn’t make sense. The Knicks are set up to be a 2nd apron team in 26/27 and 27/28. The summer of 2028 is when Brunson/OG have player options and it becomes necessary to drop below the 2nd apron.

The first inflection point with the roster will be next summer as KAT enters the last year of his contract while Bridges, Mitch and Yabalasee enter free agency (unless extended sooner). If the team doesn’t make the finals, we could see a shake up of the core.

You have the ability to be in the 2nd apron 2 out of 4 years - so after this year twice for the balance of the Brunson era.

I wouldn’t mind Ben Simmons for the vet min but he was literally unplayable in the playoffs for the clippers. Averaged like 8 mins a game and 0 points

Those back problems have taken away some of his athleticism.

I know there were some issues on the Sixers leading to him wanting out. He dealt with some injuries since then but was he also a toxic personality in the Nets locker room? I haven't paid attention to the drama.

What I remember is from the Sixers but never heard he changed from being self centered and entiteled.

For 10-15 mins a game he can relive Brunson of his ball handling duties and also push the pace and give us good defense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m all in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly I might just prefer Shamet over Simmons. Simmons is the better defender but who do you even play him with? If he's coming off the bench with Hart and playing some minutes with Mitch that is some really bad spacing.

I would rather have Shamet who can go games without playing but then get put into the rotation and defend a bit and space the floor. We don't have a lot of shooters with range on this team.

Simmons could have a career still if he accepted the role of being a a backup center. But, he doesn't see himself that way, which is stupid.

I am out on Simmons. I really like the idea but, the baggage he comes with turns me off. I like Shamet but, he's kinda redundant with all the SGs we have. Should have never signed Clarkson. That's gonna be my final answer. Neither.

Get a PG please. As much as I like Kolek, I want a vet PG running the bench.
