I wonder how the Suns can make this enticing for Kuminga *and* the Warriors ...

Ishbia’s ridiculous enough to give JK $30 mil. Could see GS taking Grayson Allen and one of the guys the Suns drafted last year - Dunn or WakeMeUpBeforeYouGoGo or whatever his name is for JK and what ever small salary needed to balance it out

I'm sure you're joking but I'd much rather have JK at a contract starting in the low 20s, both for the matching salary and the upside. The chances that the 41st pick would contribute more than JK, this season and next, is below 0.

I think you're missing some of the meaning here, this move/no move changes what GS can offer free agents and stay under certain aprons.
Golden State is at 170 mil with 9 players.
Kuminga at 25 mil put them at 195 with 10 players, so 4 more players for 12 million to stay under the 2nd apron.
Trading Kuminga for say half of 30 mil puts them at 185 mil and they could get multiple bodies making it possible to stay under the 1st apron.
It's more than talent for talent; it's also about staying under the specific aprons to possibly add Horford.

It definitely sounds like Horford is coming here, for 5.4 or more, depending on what happens with JK. I don't think that moving or keeping JK really impacts IF horford signs, just when and for how much.
Plus, this new report that JK and his camp want 25+ is all find an dandy. I also want 25M, the trick is finding someone willing to pay you that. As we've seen, the market is not bending over backwards to do so, for either of us. 23/25/28 for the next 3 years with a PO in year 3 probably gets both sides close enough to what they want to make this pretty straightforward. And that's doing JK a pretty big favor, just to get him to buy in.

Horford played for Boston (one of the favorites, not just contenders) the last 2 years for 10 mil and 9.5, moving to a different team across the United States and taking nearly a 50% cut in pay may not be what he's looking for vs retiring. Golden State may have to pay basically what Boston did (or more) to get Horford not to decide to retire, basically make it worth it to him to do another year of basketball. He's made nearly 300 million in his career so he's not hurting for money.

PHX would be a nice landing spot for JK. They are very weak at the wing position.

I know damn well what the moves mean. Far better than you are giving me credit for. Spare me the condescending attitude.

Between those two statements, I must say, it's the one I bolded that sounds condescending.

I think they'd need to stay under the 1st apron after the trade and I can't imagine how they'd do that without dumping more salary to a 3rd team. Maybe the cap experts will correct me here, but just getting under the 1st isn't enough. It's having to stay under it that makes it tough to do something like this unless the team is waaay under the 1st apron (in this case, by 15M or more).

Ah, Mr. "I am not going to tell people what to think" while telling people what to think.

I’d imagine getting Nick Richards and/or Royce O’Neal to Brooklyn would likely be part of any hypothetical trade
