Nope. If we win by like 1 point and SA wins by like 10 we are 5th.
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Oh, I thought point differential was the tie breaker.

What's "POINTS" ?

Guys, I posted on the first page the tiebreaker situation. Neither of you are right.

If we win, we are in, unless three other 3-0 teams also win tonight and they win by enough to outpace our point differential, which would require at least two of them to have approximately 30 point wins.

So almost certainly, win and you are in, but there is an outside scenario where we need to win by more to keep pace with point differential.

Am I missing something? Why are 19–24-year-old players, being “shut down” after 2-3 games? Most of these guys have not played any ball since March.

I don’t get why they can't play a 6-8 games tournament for 2-3 weeks since they don’t start up against until end of Sept.

I noticed they only play him in short stints (to start ) to give Chomche a breather, he was pretty gassed last game.

Q:why did God give Castleton 2 arms ?
A: So he can rebound with 1 arm exclusively!

I think organizations are hiding their picks to save themselves and the player from exposure. The games are truly way more competitive now than they ever have been. And there's just way more media analysis and immediate online feedback.

Yes I am an idiot. Completely ignored we will be also be ahead of SAC and OKC by point differential no matter what we do tonight as long as we win

But if we win by like 1, SA wins, and ATL CHA or LAC win in a blowout we could end up 5th

More like:

If we win by 1, SAS wins by a few points, and TWO of ATL, CHA, LAC win in a ~30 point blowout, we could end up 5th.

So increasing our margin helps because it makes those two required blowouts even bigger (if we win by 10 then those blowouts have to be more like 40 points).

But those two blowouts are already pretty unlikely, so, it's very close to win-and-you're-in.

Probably, but not certainly. If we win narrowly, and the other undefeated teams win as well, by enough points, we can end up in 5th.

Teams only sit their top rookies/prospects if they know they are out of playoffs. Its only July - there isn't anyone on this SL team that we plan on relying on for training camp anyways.

Side note, I am surprised so many teams are still undefeated.

The 4-0 Wolves sat Terrence Shannon
The 4-0 Thunder sat Ajay Mitchell and Topic
Maybe the Raptors don't follow that decision but its a very common trend

thats just stupid.

"Let's make sure they play only 3 of these summer runs type games (that are nothing like a real NBA game) instead of 4 to protect intel!"

The whole shutting guys down thing is completely dumb, the tournament is like 3-5 games total lol

- if youre in summer league you are likely fighting for NBA rotation mins (if that)

-All these guys are young.

- the season isnt for another 4 months.

-This is the only thing close to resembling an NBA game these prospects will see in a 6 months off-season of shooting alone in a gym everyday.

THEY COULD USE IT, LET THEM PLAY

I actually find the "time to shutt guys down" to be kinda cringe its that dumb considering how short the tournament is and where the majority of summer league players are in their development.

I don’t think it’s about shutting guys down. It’s about giving the other 7 players who didn’t or barely played a last shot as you’ve already seen what you need from the main group you’re developing.

rarely believe this is true as most times its shutting down 1 guy or 2 max..

Doesnt change things enough to be an obstacle, im more on the side of teams do it for dumb reasons (save him for the season, hes played enough, dont get injured, hes too good etc.)

then he wouldnt be at summer league? we are talking about a difference of like 1 game when most teams only play 4 short games total.

the logic is just to weak for "shutting guys down" justification for like 1 game, especially if there team makes the playoffs..

God forbid your prospect gets exposed to "too much competitiveness" in a 6 months off-season of seeing none of it and training alone endlessly.

I think the only thing that they care about the top picks doing, is staying healthy. These games get rough as guys compete to try and make a roster. No one cares if you lose SL games , but they care if You lose your top pick for the season before he plays a regular season game.

I hope theres a play where ulrich get a block, and/or is the last one up the court, leading to wide open 3 at the top of the arc.

Same thing with CMB.

Even if they miss, they'd be first ones back on defence, with less ground to cover. And CMB specifically, you trust him (atleast I do) in that situation.

Just saying - the "top 4" thing is stupid with differing schedules.

If they want to run this like a tournament just do it like the FIBA World Cup.

- 8 groups of 4
- play 3 games against your group
- top 2 in group move on
- 2 more games against a new group
- top 8 teams at that point are in a single knockout tourney

You at most play 8 games.

IDK - I would prefer this and would love it if teams brought out more young guys to really see how guys looked against actual NBA talent. I would much prefer if we have Dick and Ochai on this team instead of Tyson Degenhart and Tyreke Key.

Yes...gimme more of that Yogurt! Lol
