I've watched some of Ballard and like it.

Always Sunny is a top show for me all time. I even thought season 16 was pretty good knowing full well its hard to maintain a show that long. Season 17 came out today and to be honest, it's not off to a great start.

I thought the first two last night were perfectly fine. Cutting some slack to keep in mind the Abbot crossover thing was a bit forced, but still came out fine. I'd say my biggest beef last night was too much Dee screaming for the sake of screaming. Sure, she does that but back to back episodes with a bunch was a bit annoying.

I remember several years back thinking at least half of the episodes had really fallen off. But the last several years I've thought they've come back fairly strong and all episodes have been perfectly good. Sure, not at the first several seasons level but this long in and at their age still good and not at the "just hang it up already" type of level.

Also, I watched them live last night. I cannot think of the last time I watched a TV show with commercials live.

Absolutely fair. I thought episode 2 was better than 1 and it’s likely due to the forced crossover. But couldn’t agree more on Dee. Literally just screaming pretty much any time she had lines. 16 was good, I loved the Dennis smart car episode a ton.

Netflix
The Eternaut
Department Q
Adolescence

Paramount
The Agency
Mobland

Max
The Pitt
Duster (not amazing but bummed it isn't getting renewed)

Other notes:

The latest season of Resident Alien is fine. The first episode was horrible. But they got back to their roots in Ep2, and that was great. The next two episodes were hit and miss.

Poker Face was ok this season. I like the style/format and the homage to Columbo, but the mysteries themselves have been meh. One fantastic episode, several ok episodes, and a few clunkers.

We've been rewatching Veep. Just as good the second time around.

Dexter has been brought up before. I liked the original but it went downhill and had a terrible ending imo. I enjoyed Dexter: New Blood. I've only watched half of Original Sin and thought it was pretty good for a prequel. I'll finish.

Now there's Dexter: Resurrection. First two episodes are out. I can overlook the setup, it's a show about a fictional serial killer after all, and liked the first two well enough to keep going. This isn't ground breaking, award winning stuff. But I've liked Michael C. Hall since Six Feet Under ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Personally I liked the first 4, last 4 not as much, although there were a lot of actors those last 4 seasons I like (Shawn Hatosy, Ray Stevenson, Edward James Olmos, Peter Weller).

Agreed on Dexter. Original was amazing until it went on too long. New Blood was solid, not amazing. Haven't started the new one.

Episode 3 of Always Sunny season 17 was definitely back on track IMO. Although I still think Dee's character has moved past the point of no return.

Necaxa seems like a poor spin off of Welcome to Wrexham and they even call it out. That said, I'll still watch it.

Lodge 49 and Patriot are two of my favorite criminally under appreciated shows. Awesome to see them referenced in the same post!

The Monarch story isn't something I would normally be interested in but I like Kurt Russell and watched season 1 and enjoyed it. It's going on 20 months since season 1 was released and season 2 wrapped up filming in February but I haven't seen a release date yet. Apple does like to take their time.

It says the price increase starts 7/22 and those with current plans the price goes up on 8/22. My annual plan renews on 8/22 :banghead:

I have the ad supported annual at $79.99. I saw the monthly price hikes but I couldn't find what my annual is going to jump to.
