Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.5
I am so glad that Lillard's name is no longer linked to our franchise. Once a bum, always a bum. A no defense playing, low efficiency chucker. And I've felt that way for over a decade! He was always far closer to Seth Curry than he was to Stephen Curry. We were never going to go anywhere with him.
The fact that some "fans" have been clamoring for the likes of Lillard, Paul George, Bradley Beal, James Harden and other chumps all off-season is enough proof that mental institutions need to be brought back!

Truly couldn’t care less.
Not interested in a win loss outlook. Genuinely enjoying a fun summer. Yang came out of nowhere, isn’t terrible. Win.
Dame back to Portland for space they weren’t gonna use? Awesome!
Heat doing jack **** (and will be a 6 seed - no shade)… **** great summer.
Herro was awesome in the first playin!
lol Miami as been at their worst and still wins and builds more talented teams than Portland. this is an empty troll attempt & would be like us trolling Chicago after we got Wade back.
Difference being Wade won championships and Damian is coming off a career threatening injury at end of career while being 1 of the worst defenders in the league when completely healthy and was zero f***ing help to Giannis. Miami FO doddged a bullet

I didn’t think Dame would join the Heat and I also didn’t really want it unless it was for the minimum. However, Lillard to the Blazers again is not what I expected. I figured he would go to a team that he could push over the edge for a chip. Strange times.

He is a loser that somehow made a team with Giannis far worse because he was so unimpactful when he wasn't the center of everything. His actual value was in that he wouldve been free money as a shooter off the bench, yet Portland fans are trolling Miami. Do they know Bucks fans are feeling blessed they threw this scrub to the curb?

No other team in their right mind would take on Dame at $42 mil much less $21 mil over 3 years.

Bizarre take from a Portland fan to come trolling in here. Congrats on reuniting with a franchise icon, but bro is cooked. This isn’t the victory lap you think it is

hindsight is 20/20 but the way he tanked the Bucks into a team that couldn't get out of the 1st round with a talent like Giannis should be studied - 2 superstars should not be that unimpressive in this weak East. Dame is cool but his impact on winning was overstated and with age he knows it's better to just be home and polish his local legacy than to keep failing, which I think is a smart choice... don't want to go to Boston just to get traded by Brad the next season

Can we now put to the bed all the talk about the Heat front office failing to land a superstar like Dame or Durant? I don't know why the talking heads on ESPN keep dragging our franchise through the mud because we refused to give up young assets like Herro, JJJ, Jovic, Ware for aging has-beens like Durant and Dame.

Good for Dame, he probably wanted to be w/ his family. And who would turn down 3/42 when youre in the twilight? I wish dame wouldve came, but for the ultra cheap.

Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.5
lol I'm so confused... I don't even think DB is a bad poster (enjoy his takes on the GB sometimes) but what? Miami has won 3 chips in the last 20 years and been to the Finals 7 times, Portland in that period got to enjoy the end of the Jailblazers, a bunch of first round exits, two second round trips and one conference finals they surprisingly had a shot to win but Lillard himself came up small. And lottery since.
Its not even like they're supposed to be great this year or have a future superstar. They're as much a treadmill as current Miami but with no championships or future superstar to show for it.
I get its annoying when another teams fans salivate over your player and you get in a debate over what they'll go for in trade, but it happens all the time. No need to take it so personal. I'm guessing there must have been some really trolly Heat fans or something, I wasn't posting a ton at that time but I do recall actually not being happy with Dame going the player empowerment route. Which backfired on him anyways.
Analogy time, this feels like the Blazers are the husband with the wife who is flirting around on them, he forbids her from seeing the dude she wants to see so she just ends up **** the lawn boy (Milwaukee) and then comes back after she's had her back blown out, and now the husband is bragging to the first dude that he got his wife back... congrats?
LMAO exactly. I mean I get its probably personal and I do recall a couple Miami fans trolling their board at that time, but take it up with those guys. And heaven forbid you ever have a player linked to the Knicks, because they are ten times worse with that sort of thing.

The mods really need to do a better job controlling the trolls in this sub. If someone tried this in the Knicks sub, they'd probably get soft-banned after just two posts.

As do I! They saved us from this whole ticking time bomb.
Amazing also how you all handed off the grenade, it blew up in someone else’s face, and then you all got the bomb back defused… damaged, but defused for nostalgic sake.

Nah, I’m with Tim. I enjoy DB’s takes on the GB sometimes as well, and he and I have gone back and forth over this before.
Very strange for him to come here instead of the Bucks board though. What in the world do the Heat have to do with Dame’s decision today lol. Didn’t have the cap space, didn’t have the roster space, didn’t have the interest.
It actually ended up working out in MIA’s favor as was mentioned a few posts ago because it would’ve locked in Jimmy in his elder years along with a guy who would’ve been sitting on the bench making 60 mil+.
As a result, maybe DB is legitimately happy for us actually!

Dame could be smart. Recoup this year, get a top 4 drsft pick, be ready for next season, just in time to watch Bucks implode and then have Dame get in Giannis ear to come to Portland where they can offer them back their 29, 30 and 31 picks back so they can give in and rebuild. Portland owns Bucks fate.
C - Clingan / Williams / Hansen
PF - Antetokounmpo / Grant / Murray
SF - Dybantsa / Avdija / Thybulle
SG - Sharpe / Camara / Holiday
PG - Lillard / Henderson / Holiday
(Probably some of those guys might go for cap purposes)

Only portland is dumb enough to give him such a contract when he was already making that enormous money with milwaukee. Its an awful contract from an older player past his prime recovering from an achilles tear and its basically dead money.
Its still not as bad as paul george’s contract who just had another knee surgery today…
Yes but you want to trade actual assets for old ass ineffective LeBron so...
