Insurance? You mean if he has a horrible injury while waiting for his FA, there is risk but players are coming back much better today then they were a decade ago, medical technology has made great strides in recent years. If he had any real concerns about that he should have taken the offer a year ago, obliviously he's ready to bet on himself.

So the mle is not the floor

Ugh... "expected floor" (I mentioned expected in a previous thread, didn't know I had to keep putting it in every post) because nothing is certain until it happens. It's why he didn't take 25 mil a year later, he expected more which seems he and his agent were wrong for this particular off-season so far. I'd say he has the same expectations next year as he did this year.

Send him to Phoenix, try to get M.Williams (if GS medical team oks it) and R. O'Neal and they can give Kuminga a descending contract to allow that trade to happen then go add Horford and Melton. If Williams is good and stays healthy, maybe that's the Warrior's long-term center, he just needs to stay healthy to play and to bulk up.

How old will Horford be when he signs?
This movie is like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where everyone knows all the lines.

^^^^
I don't get the reference.

Chicken is for poor people, chicken is unacceptable.

Even the 14th guy on the roster can afford steaks all the time -- though you'd think the team nutritionists and trainers would probably encourage players not to go all red meat all the time.

Al Horford and De'Anthony Melton are widely expected to sign with the Warriors, sources said.

A handful of teams at NBA Summer League stated Horford and Melton already have verbal agreements in place with Golden State.

Jonathan Kuminga's situation is holding these deals up.

If this happens, GS should be deeper and be able to rest Curry, Butler and Green a decent amount during the season, especially once Melton is play at a good level again.

SG Podz, Hield

That lineup assumes JK is gone with only future draft capital coming back?

I doubt they're getting a starter, they are looking for future compensation as part of the package so the value of a player will be lower. This is the best possible guess until Kuminga gets moved.

Hope it's true and Melton is back to his old self and at his best. The biggest excitement is both will be huge fits if the level of their play holds up. Especially Melton, addition by substruction of Podz starting next to Curry and moving to the bench.

Nah. Season long holdout by Kuminga.

I don't think Melton is true PG. However, neither is Podz. I'd prefer Melton starting next to Curry and move Podz to run the 2nd unit.

I'm not expecting Melton to be ready for opening night and definitely not 100% and in reality, Butler will be distributing the ball while Curry is on the bench.

The main point isn't who's starting, it'll be who's finishing in the 2nd half of the year.

Who knows what Kerr thinks is the starting lineup next season. Personally, I'd start Buddy and pair Podz and Jimmy to run the bench units.

Either way, that lineup you listed looks MUCH better if you have JK as the backup 4. Not only does it look better, but also it is the most likely scenario, especially, until the first week of feb.

UNLESS they get a real player back they're not gifting a team JK for someone else Kerr won't play.
