i mean. zach isn't wrong, At least in the context of the Nets. If I'm the Nets there's no way I'm paying that dude big money.
I fully support players defending themselves like that to National media, Especially when it might impact their money. its fun times.
but... what does cam look like on a playoff team? 6th man scorer for 20 mins... and closing lineup guy?

The perception of value. How much is a player worth? Superstars, all-stars, pretty much achieve max salaries/extensions. The challenge is those good but not great players. Cam Thomas can score but his lack of a complete game hurts. Teams that overpay for “good not great” pay for it.
