Can I be in that parallel universe where we kept Lowry? We would be in such a better position. If the NBA somehow forced Charlotte to return our pick it would drastically change the outlook of this team.

At very least the commissioner should place Rozier on the temporary exempt list and allow us to have the extra roster spot. They won’t cause they don’t want to seem complicit while trying to sweep this under the rug by absolving him.

I’d prefer to be in the parallel universe in which we never got Lowry.

If trae and the Hawks stall on the extension talks, riles should swoop in and offer herro + picks + whatever else they want. He would unlock bam and ware. An offensive engine would be invaluable to this roster because there are guys that can score, but they need help.

So you want the Hawks who are balking at paying Trae the max to trade for Herro who will be asking them for the max? Trae wants the max and that’s the hiccup. He’s been actively helping recruit for them this offseason.

Herro and picks AND whatever else they want for Trae Young? Lmao sometimes I wonder if you guys are secretly just fans of these other teams.
Herro’s a flawed player who gets exposed defensively…so is Trae Young! And LaMelo, and even Ja Morant (who admittedly is a tier above the others in talent but doesn’t show it consistently). The amount of you desperate to dump Herro for one of these other equally flawed players has me scratching my head, especially when you want to sweeten the deal with picks and filler too.
At the very least even if you hate Herro personally, at least try to get back good value for him. You can’t stand him because he like everyone else sucked against Cleveland…ok, meanwhile he was the best player on the court and outplayed Trae head to head to even get this team into the playoffs.

Looks like this is the week of hard launches. Bam and Aja were courtside at the WNBA skills/3 point contest. Super cute.

Saudades.

Yea but he would “unlock” Bam and Ware, whatever that means

"Unlock" probably just means scaling Wiggins back to like 6 shots a game, so the other guys can get going.

Look at Kuminga, guy is a man without a country..
People were saying he was going to get 130 million…… i thought he would get 4 years 80 million which is what Malik Monk got..
He hasnt even gotten Duncan Robinson type of money offers..
Broken ass dame is missing a whole year and even he got 3 years 42 million..

Never been a fan of Trae Young.. Trae is another name heat fans for whatever reason is obsessed with.. hes on the John Collins, (current) Dame, Lavine, Bradley Beal list.. a guy you bring in and changes nothing for your franchise.
If im giving up herro and picks to make a real upgrade at the guard spot, it would be Fox. Fox has been statistically one of the most clutch players the last few years, up there with Jalen Brunson. And his relationship with Bam is well documented. It would work. But we dont know yet what the spurs plans are with Fox.

Fox is a fun player, sure. But you’re seriously pitching him as the answer to Miami’s problems? He’s a ball dominant guard who’s overrated as a playmaker, can’t shoot, hasn’t shown he can elevate a team beyond one playoff cameo in Sacramento.
His entire game relies on athleticism and speed, the kind of traits that don’t exactly age well.
Fox will turn 28y this December. He's already reached the stage where physical decline could begin within 1–2 seasons. He's never been a knockdown shooter, doesn't have elite playmaking instincts and has never been known for savvy off ball movement, all red flags for longevity if his burst fades even slightly
But hey, he’s boys with Bam, right? Who needs fit, skillset, or actual results when the front office is building around locker room hugs

Who would u rather have in the playoffs, Trae or Herro?
I'm not even a big Trae guy, but he's proven to be the better post season player.
Furthermore, all of Mia's ball handlers stink; Herro especially. I hold my breath every time an aggressive POA defender is matched against him.
Trae is one of the best handlers in the league and automatically bolsters the roster from being amongst the worst collectively in basketball, to one of the best.
All that said, Mia shouldnt prioritize getting Trae, imo.
If he falls into their laps at 'no-brainer' of a price then so be it.

Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.6
2025-26: $24,924,126 guaranteed, fully guaranteed if team plays in 2nd round of playoffs AND Rozier plays 70 games in any of the 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25
Rozier is currently counting as $26,643,031 against the cap. He has played less than 70 games the last few years. Guessing the plan if they can’t move him is to release after the trade deadline. His current savings leaves us 300k under the tax line at the end of year.

Thus the hesitancy to fill that 15th roster spot. Although I believe that veteran's minimum contracts don't count against the luxury tax?
