So the only riskless way to keep Q, RayJ, Freeman, and Peter is to give one on them a standard contract so the other three can get two-ways.

One of the only 100% riskless ways, yes. Some combination of promoting people to the main roster and signing others to the two way spots.

Caitlin doesn't think Kam is ready to be the third point guard.

On that post summer league, Setting the Pace,... Chad said they drafted him as a 2, that could be a secondary ball handler,... much like Drew. But, they played him at the point in summer league, just to see if he could do it, & were happy with the results,.. for summer league, not for the season.

With RayJ and Q each on two-ways and able to play 50 games a year, they may feel they're okay without adding another point guard on a standard contract. if so, I can see Freeman going the way of Oscar and not getting a contract except maybe with the Boom. Peter would then be the third two-way and Bradley would stick at least until the trading deadline.

Yeah,... Kam is already signed to a standard contract. So, if they think that RayJ can be the 3rd PG on a 2-way, & if anyone gets hurt Kam could fill in as a 4th PG? Then they are probably covered?

Just looked at Spotrac & Kam's contract is something I've never seen before?... It' says he has no cap hit in 25-26? That he was paid in cash, up front for the year? His second year is partially guaranteed & shows the cap hit, etc.,.. as does the 3rd & 4th non-guaranteed years? Not sure how that works?....

Edit: Nvm! It must be a website error,.. the explanation above says that he has a cap hit this year at the same value as his cash payment. So,... all good. LOL :D

It’s a weird new CBA quirk that 2nd round exception guys don’t count against the cap/tax/apron until 8/1, so that they don’t hinder the order of operations for teams and their summer transactions.

Wizop,... thanks for posting this mate!

Finally got a chance to watch this & highly recommend it to Pacers fans. There is a TON of insight in this one about the players, the nuances of how they play, and how effective they could be at the NBA level. Was a good listen / watch. The combination of CC's 'X's & O's' game analysis, combined with Samson's understanding of the individual skill elements & how you can combine those skills into a cohesive team is really informative. Incredibly helpful in painting the picture of the team as it sits today, and as it could be.

While some of Caitlin's stuff is free on YouTube, I highly recommend subscribing to BasketballSheWrote on Patreon. She is a wonderful resource and deserves our support. She has no publication behind her and subscriptions are her only income. You can pay $3 or $5 a month. I chose to pay $5.

Already a member of her Patreon. :) Yes,... here work in general is fantastic. The fact that she covers the Pacers, is a team writer & a real basketball analyst,... not just someone who likes the sport & is trying to make a name for themselves, should prompt everyone that is a Pacers fan to check out her Patreon.

When guys like Coach Spins (now a team video analyst for the 76er's),... Sam Vecenie, site & credit her work,... let alone the praise they have for her writing,... Even fans of other teams have signed up for her Patreon, just to get a better understanding of the game, and ask for her opinion on what their teams should do! LOLOL

Yeah,... we Pacer fans are blessed to have her covering our team. Now, having Samson join her, is just icing on the cake. Can't say enough about what they have done. No agenda, no sensationalism, no BS,... just great, honest basketball analysis & observations from people that know the game,... and have the rare ability to help anyone that wants to, to know it better.
