Free Agency Draft - Semi - Dr Positivity vs Mr Ringer*

Post#1 » by durantbird » Sat Jul 19, 2025 5:45 am

Here is a quick list of what you need in your writeup.

1. Specific years for each player on your team
2. Rotations and minutes for each player
3. Reasoning as to why your team will win and/or why people should vote for you.

Do not vote in this thread until both managers have submitted their writeups. Once the writeups are posted, I will add a poll, and the team with the most votes after 24 hours will advance. EACH MANAGER SHOULD ALSO VOTE FOR THEIR OWN TEAM IN THE POLL - IF YOU FAIL TO DO THIS, YOU ARE SIMPLY GIVING AWAY A VOTE. If the votes are tied, we will decide the matchup via AI vote.

You are not required to state or explain your vote, but you are free to comment in the thread if you want to.

If writeups aren't posted within 24 hours, we will vote solely based on the players they have drafted (and any rotations they have posted on their roster page).

Stephen Curry 15' - 16.8
Anthony Edwards 25' - 20.4
Jalen Williams 25' - 16.9
Rasheed Wallace 08' - 11.3
Jarrett Allen 25' - 7.8

Derek Fisher 12' - 5.5
Shane Battier 12' - 4.5
Tristan Thompson 18' - 4.4
87.6/88

Rotation:

Curry 38 \ Fisher 10
Edwards 38 \ JDub 10
JDub 30 \ Battier 18
Wallace 38 \ Battier 10
Allen 33 \ Thompson 15

On defense, I'm going with Steph to take Kyrie and ant is guarding Wade, JDub guarding much less threatening OG, and he is backing up Steph on the perimeter defense with Jarrett Allen rim protection against everything that goes inside

The Dr. built a solid 5-out team but with so much suffocating defense in Sheed and JDub to help Ant and Steph I'm certain for my team to stop him well-enough

On offense I really believe there isn't much for him to do. Flash is a fine defender but can't handle Ant and kyrie would for sure get lost on Steph with much less help possible. OG will barely be able to cover him as well and JDub is a wonderful scorer and creator himself who can't be left alone

Sheed will have a bit harder series with the match-up against Davis but he can handle him and will prevent him from being a defensive anchor on The Dr. entire defense.

My bench is favorable as well, like I said on the previous match-up, it brings me just what I need, with veteran, smart play on all 5 positions, good defensive back-up and tons of winning experience. With all due respect to Caruso who's one of the best bench players there is, Porter and Collison are a level below each of my bench players, and of course can't handle my starters.

I think my team is built just for each other, having all it takes, with wonderful scoring on all levels, elite finishing and shooting from everyone, a defensive minded crew around Steph on on of his best defensive years, and a great match up to limit all of The Dr. tools to the minimum

Good luck Dr.

I will be able to post my write up about an hour after the deadline if you don’t mind not opening votes until then.

GL Mr Ringer

PG: Kyrie Irving (2015: 16.5 FGA)
SG: Dwyane Wade (2006: 18.8 FGA)
SF: OG Anunoby (2020: 8.2 FGA)
PF: Kevin Love (2018: 12.4 FGA)
C: Anthony Davis (2020: 17.7 FGA)

PG/SG: Alex Caruso (2020: 4.5 FGA)
SF: Otto Porter (2022: 6.6 FGA)
C: Nick Collison (2012: 3.2 FGA)

87.9 / 88

PG: Kyrie Irving (38) / Alex Caruso (10)
SG: Dwyane Wade (34) / Alex Caruso (14)
SF: OG Anunoby (32) / Otto Porter (12) / Dwyane Wade (4)
PF: Kevin Love (36) / Otto Porter (12)
C: Anthony Davis (38) / Nick Collison (10)

GL Mr ringer

Defensive matchups: Kyrie on Curry, Wade on Jdub, Anunoby on Edwards, Love on Wallace, Davis on Allen.

We have the overall stronger offensive team with Wade-Davis-Kyrie big 3 and Love spacing the floor, while he has 3 perimeter stars but less offense from the frontcourt. Curry and Jdub as a nice fit but throwing in Edwards may be one extra cook in the kitchen than necessayr. Davis being able to stay on Allen will be great for our D and Anunoby should do a great job against Edwards. Kyrie gets Curry back a bit on the other end, and Caruso is a great backup for the matchup.

Ringer's bench is weak with Thunder Fisher, Heat Battier and older TT. I think the big difference here is Caruso vs Fisher when considering the matchups with star guards on both sides, while Porter can be as effective as this version of Battier.

Overall Kyrie and Wade combo can keep it close with Curry and Edwards and after that I believe my team has the advaatage between Davis as superstar frontcourt player and better depth.
