My take on Walsh is that he has a very definite ceiling, so he is the sort of player that is much more influenced by the other four players on the court. This is both a good thing and bad thing, in the sense that if he is playing with four of the Celtics main starters he can be a meaningful contributor as a 7th or 8th man with defense and a little bit of shooting/offense. But if he needs to be the main focus of the team, then I don't see that going very well in terms of consistently winning games to be honest.

He has bad handles, an inconsistent outside shot, doesn't finish well in traffic, doesn't pass the ball and commits one dumb foul after another. Otherwise, I guess he's ok.

Walsh’s shot seems to be becoming reliable to me. What did he shoot in Maine last year?

In this highlight video from our recent game vs the Lakers, Jordan shows that he has decent handles, drives into traffic and finishes well. A couple of times he was stopped, but was fouled. He wasn't getting stripped driving the paint unlike someone we know. He also moved the ball, and shot the ball ok (2-4 3-point shot vs Lakers, 3-6 vs Grizzlies). Never going to be a sharpshooter, but he has improved his shot. He has fouled a lot, but he plays aggressively on both ends of the floor. I'd say that he's coming along. I'm pleased with the progress he has made, and look forward to seeing what he can do with the big team.

They (apparently) didn't really send him down there last year, per BBref..

I'll argue with Curm about the passing critique, he's QUITE ball movement friendly whenever he got playing time with the regular rotation.

Sounds like the scouting report on brown yr 1-3

I'm not a big fan of Jordan Walsh but I have to give credit where credit is due. Walsh had a pretty darn good summer league stint. He did everything that you had hoped that he would do in summer league. Played under control for the most part, hit his shots (39% from 3pt range) and played hard nosed defense. Jordan Walsh took a big step towards becoming a rotation player. I hope he keeps it up because the Celtics need a few young guys to step up and be rotation players.

I'm not a big fan of Brown either, but Walsh is no Brown.

Brown had a clue years 1-3.

Walsh is still looking for a clue.

I did a little write up and video on Walsh's summer league performance:

Read on Twitter

At the 1:38 mark he makes a pass that was as good as any pass I saw at summer league. Really impressive stuff. But Bassey smokes the layup so Walsh doesn't get credit with the assist..that pass was insane, man lol.
