Get him into camp already. How did we even get this guy with these measurables and upside?

Yo all jokes aside, I see some good upside. This is definitely the kind of player that we need to develop.

I don't have that sense of dread I had the past few seasons that the kids would just go to the Knicks to die.

This has been eye opening. Screw the score of this game. There are some pieces here that need some seasoning.

I thought Pate looked a little ragged the first two games, but he's settled in, playing under control and well.

Both guys look like they will pan out, though feel more confident in saying Mo D will, right now. But he's not ahead by much and that's a compliment to Pate because Mo D looks really solid and skilled.

Like the stuff that Mo D needs to get better at aren't a lot. Nnaji even as a center looks really raw and several years away. Mo D looks like a guy who could make the full time roster next year.

Not sure. Probably because he's still a project. The 3 point shots needs work, but the form is there.
His drives are good but decision making/finishing can go up a level.
All really fixable stuff.

What stands out is his footwork defensively, his length (no pause he really has long arms), quickness and control with the ball in his hands in transition.

I mean obviously we need to see him versus NBA level comp but there is a lot to work with. He reminds me of early Pascal Siakam

If you watched only the Dink Pate highlights, you'd think we was a lotto pick, not an undrafted kid. If they can't take a chance on him, they're not worth their salaries. Mo D is also going to be good. We need good, cheap kids on the bench with this terrible 2nd apron looming over us.

I need to pay attention to Pate some more.

But yes. Diawara looks like he is worth rostering. Even if his offense lags now, his defensive chops look like they can be serviceable at the next level.

Pate has some Reddish (the good parts) in him

He's hungry and he could be the potential star talent to get on the cheap Leon's been trying to get since Cam

if he is backing up Mikal and OG, do you need that much offense from Diawara beyond hitting an open three at a decent clip or the occasional drive to the hoop?

any reason he can't get a steady 10-16 mpg if he doesn't hurt the team on the offensive end?

I'm gonna say this.

Finding diamonds in the rough and polishing them to become legit NBA rotation pieces is the hallmark of a well run organization with a winning program. We saw San Antonio and Miami do this.

I feel very optimistic about where we're headed.

He has good form on his shot from what I watched today but the attempts i saw didn't go down. He needs a lot more time in the gym to develop consistency there, which was what I also recall from his draft bio if I remember correctly.

His rebounding, ball handling in transition, and defense look promising.

Does this mean he will play next season? Absolutely not. But I see potential in this kid.
