Rozier is currently counting as $26,643,031 against the cap. He has played less than 70 games the last few years. Guessing the plan if they can’t move him is to release after the trade deadline. His current savings leaves us 300k under the tax line at the end of year.

Thus the hesitancy to fill that 15th roster spot. Although I believe that veteran's minimum contracts don't count against the luxury tax?

Depending on service time we can sign a vet minimum tenured vet for like 3.4 mil and it counts like half on the cap so still would put us over. This was the Haslem deal. Still have to cut some salary to fill the 15th spot

Herro’s a flawed player who gets exposed defensively…so is Trae Young! And LaMelo, and even Ja Morant (who admittedly is a tier above the others in talent but doesn’t show it consistently). The amount of you desperate to dump Herro for one of these other equally flawed players has me scratching my head, especially when you want to sweeten the deal with picks and filler too.

At the very least even if you hate Herro personally, at least try to get back good value for him. You can’t stand him because he like everyone else sucked against Cleveland…ok, meanwhile he was the best player on the court and outplayed Trae head to head to even get this team into the playoffs.

Yea but he would “unlock” Bam and Ware, whatever that means

"Unlock" probably just means scaling Wiggins back to like 6 shots a game, so the other guys can get going.

I’m rooting for Alec Burks to come back. Need some more 3 point shooting on the roster. He’s the perfect tenured vet minimum guy who only counts 1.7 mil against the cap

Cam Thomas also has the problem of being a chucker on a bad teams. He's probably going to have to go somewhere else and prove himself before anyone pays him real money. Cause even if he thinks hes as good as Herro, he definitely isn't nearly as efficient or as effective as a playmaker. And people are debating if Herro is worth his money. He shouldn't have blew off Steve Nash when he was coach.

We just saw a free agency period where owners and front offices basically said na, we arent going to spend that kind of money on mid tier talent..

Myles Turner was the best free agent and he got 27 million per season.. randle got 33.3 million

The days of paying mid tier talent like Beal 50 million per season are going to stay in the past.. there will be a significant pay gap between a top talent like SGA at 70 mill and a guy like Herro who should be at 20-25 million per season, just hope it’s not with us.

Just wanting to clarify after seeing you say Turner is better than Randle. So it’s Turner >>>>> Randle >>>>> Bam correct?

Honestly 05-12 was insane. Injuries robbed our goat and he still managed to become a top 20 player ever, can only imagine what could’ve been. It’s funny though you never hear about Wade in “what if” scenarios like Hill, Rose, Roy, Penny etc. and I guess that’s because he was still able to be so great despite the injuries

No doubt ‘06 flash is goated. Seeing Wade dominate every game on those ‘08, ‘09 teams tho was crazy. Makes you appreciate it that much more when you see todays Heat teams

There goes another Rozier trade candidate. Wiz probably saved the amount on the buyout he just signed with Lakers.

Apparently Luka reached out to Marcus Smart and got him to agree to sign immediately after the buyout
