I wouldn’t mind stashing him overseas for a couple seasons, but I don’t know if that’s a consideration at this point. I don’t want to release him, but he’s probably at 3 years away from being able contribute.

I wouldn't think of Zikarsky as a this year piece. Rudy starter, Beringer backup (and 4th or 5th big), Edwards emergency.

I wouldn't think of Zikarsky as a this year piece. Rudy starter, Beringer backup (and 4th or 5th big), Edwards emergency.

JB should be C2 in the name of development. Naz is C3, Randle C4, two way C5. My point is I think Edwards is as bad or worse than Rocco. Neither should see the floor, but I just wonder about Edwards value in three years. Maybe if we sign someone else we find another JMAC (10th man,) for the future at one of the other positions. Not a big deal either way.

Losing sucks, but it sucks a bit less when nobody who's going to get a meaningful minute actually played. Judging by the stats Rocco played solid shooting from field and FT line plus 2 blocks. Newton, Edwards and Bailey shot the lights out.

We played no starters, they played 2. We used mostly G league and below talent, I have no idea what they used. In a consolation game where everyone is playing for themselves I have to go back to children’s dance recital. Most people watching don’t care about the result, all they care about is watching their kid/s (for me Rocco and Newton,) and seeing their progress.

I would need to see a lot more of his game in preseason before I felt comfortable with him on a Timberwolves floor. I am not even sure his floor is as high as Nix’s floor. Time will tell. If he develops well that would be great for us. I just don’t know.

Wolves playing the Rockets, most of the players that are going to be on the roster are sitting. Zikarsky is the only one playing.

Not starting Rocco was both confusing and very telling.

They might kinda like Edwards. I was completely unimpressed last year, but this summer league you could see the defensive ability. And Rocco is sub-summer league talent level tbh. Apparently the scouting report was out real early that you can just dribble by him and he can't stop it, because centers were routinely blowing by him in every game. He needs a lot of work in the weight room to be viable. He's a 5 year project at minimum.

I have little idea about that. Probably a bit better.

Newton would probably be a good match with better players, but I'm not sure Bailey gets enhanced that much. Bailey and Rocco left me most unimpressed of everybody. Rocco can barely move, and Bailey was supposed to be this electric athlete, but I don't really remember him showcasing that at all.

Timberwolves Guard Terrence Shannon Jr. Named to NBA 2K26 All-Summer League First Team

Minneapolis/St. Paul – The NBA today announced that Minnesota Timberwolves guard Terrence Shannon Jr. has been named to the NBA 2K26 All-Summer League First Team.

Shannon Jr. appeared in three games (all starts) for the Timberwolves, leading the team to a 3-0 record while averaging 22.7 points on 47.6% shooting, including 38.5% from three, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.7 steals in 29.3 minutes per game. On July 10, Shannon Jr. scored a game-high-tying 20 points to go along with six rebounds, a game-high nine assists and a game-high-tying two steals in a 98-91 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

Shannon Jr. is the fourth player in franchise history to earn All-Summer League First Team honors in Las Vegas, joining Randy Foye (2006 and 2007) Tyus Jones (2016), Craig Smith (2007).
