KCP for Simons works in the trade machine. KCP for Simons and Tillman also works...

I hate KCP, Stevens would probably move him again at the trade deadline.

IMO it would be less likely they would move him again UNTIL the deadline though. If I'm Stevens I find value in Caldwell-Pope stabilizing the defense a little and think he could have a bounce back shooting year and could increase his value. Either way, that 21mm contract is easier to find trade partners than 27mm is. A good number of the possibilities for Simons require 3 players and most are tough to see why the team would want him.

I'm not so sure I would. He gets $21,621,500 this year with a player option for the same next year. It would have to be a good pick to offset that second year of obligation. Then again, Brad may have been spooked by the shooting at their SL. Then again, KCP is in his 30s and shot all of .342 from the 3 last year.

Doesn't sound great to me either. I'd prefer a couple of smaller contracts. That second year of KCP that he'll almost assuredly pick up, looks bad. Doubting this one unless it's a decent pick cooking back.

Can only see it if KCP is getting routed to another team. That's a lot of money to take on in 2026-2027.

Depends upon the Draft Compensation.
But, i seriously doubt that this is real?

I have to know the draft compensation in this proposal because this is almost certainly adding more salary (player option 2026-27.). Pope was terrible against us with Orlando. We getting multiple 1st round picks?

Multiple 2nd rders knowing Brad.

Still got that B.S. Contract.

Ehhh. Even 5 x 2nds might not do it.

KCP just played heel two months ago, not sure JT/JB be excited about the acquisition
KCP also stunk last year and looked washed

but... it's $6 million off the bill this year and then expiring money to trade for a center this deadline or next summer

but... KCP is a Klutch Sports client and it's just always something with Klutch, better to not even do bidness with them

Right.
Stevens isn't Trading into a $43M commitment.

Hard Pass.

If we get a first we should absolutely do it

I usually ALWAYS try to dump Tillman in these things, I'm ashamed of myself for not doing so this time. I was the last Tillman defender last year, but if things didn't click last year (which they didn't), he would never have been a guy I wanted in 2026. We all new THAT would have been a reorganized roster even if they had the appetite to keep the band together this year (and Tatum didn't get hurt). So even if he gets back to great health, I want to get looks at younger players and wouldn't dedicate the time for another audition for Tillman.

I'd do it.

Picking up another 1st in 26' and if Sam is moved for another 1st in 26'. :D

Pope would pick up that option for 26/27 but he can be moved pretty easily IMO.

He averages 76 games played a year at 29mpg.

He's played in very good systems most of his career.

So the Cs want to save money by trading 27.6m for 43.2m?

Yeah, right!

Does saving the money doing this potential trade allow us to bring Al back? Then that might be worth picking up that second year of KCP in Brad's eyes

No!

It's just 6m in savings from 27.6m to 21.6m.
