Durbin I saw has a WAR of 2, Baldwin is 1.9, and Baldwin is considered the main comtnder from what I see with Misio, who doesn’t really have the starts to compare right now, probably will at the end of the year. Idk, but don’t you get a 1st Round pick for ROY prospect promotion? But yea, seems surprising Durbin isn’t getting some love as a ROY contenders everyday starter on a good team, multiple walk offs, the only thing he lacks is high end HR numbers and hitting stats, but overall seems like clearly one of the best rookies.

Espn wrote an article on ROY candidates and Durbin was frontrunner with Chad Patrick 2 and miz as the dark horse to win.

I despise the new rules where I'm actively rooting against Brewers players from finishing top 2 in ROY voting.

I mean, don’t we basically get a first round pick if we do? Yea, the service time aspect, which I think is what your talking about where I believe they accrue a year of service sucks, but having a strong farm system consistently is and will always be our small budget team solution to that. I mean, unless you’re the Yankees, Dodgers, Mets now, etc, that really is the only thing you can do.

We wouldn't get a draft pick for any of Mis, Durbin, Collins, or Patrick.

In the case of Durbin, Collins, & Patrick none of them were top 100 guys which is a requirement. In the case of Mis he wasn't up on opening day which is also a requirement. So if any of those 4 guys finish in the top two for ROY we just lose an extra year of cheap control on them.

*Collins has been up all season and I can't imagine he goes down so him specifically wouldn't be effected in any meaningful way.

I have mixed feelings because it would hurt the Brewers a little but I also hate the BS service time manipulation so I'm ok with the rule in general.

I'll note I don't blame teams for doing it, it's the system that's dumb IMO
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

I agree with you for the most part. That said I'm not sure any of Mis, Durbin, or Patrick's service time was being manipulated by the Brewers. Nobody thought Mis or Durbin should make the OD roster and most people agree Patrick currently isn't one of our top 5 starters

Our stealing bases has not been as great this year and that was quite poor from Chourio.
