Knecht, Maxi and SRP for Robert Williams?
Ok interesting.
Have to waive Shake and Goodwin to fit Smart in on the BAE. Even then, they won’t have room to start the season with 15.
I don't think they waive both.
More likely to try trade Knecht somewhere or Gabe to Heat. Feel that Gabe to Heat makes sense with Rozier issues and the fact that he fit their system very well.

Something like Vincent and Dalton for Jalen Smith? Finger math says that could be enough with replacing Milton with two zero year contracts?

I think the Lakers should be targeting 6'5-6'8 wings instead of another big. They need one 3 and D wing to fill out the roster.
I think Thybulle or Highsmith make a lot of sense.

Somehow I don't think the Lakers plan on salary dumping Knecht. And the Lakers need to shed some money in a deal, so even if a Gabe for Rozier deal was allowed by the CBA it'd shove the Lakers well beyond the 1st apron. I do believe the Heat have a TPE from the Duncan Robinson deal that would allow them to acquire Gabe Vincent.

Miami's around $1.5m over the tax already, and only with 14 guys. I can't imagine they'd take on a ton of salary and blow past the first apron. Even if sending out Fontecchio, they'd add another $3ish million to the tax. Seems like they'd need to be going the otherway?

Why would the Bulls do this. They signed Jalen last year and are not getting any incentive to trade the best player in the deal who happens to be their backup center who they likely have a role for.

Good depth piece.
Smart, Vincent, Laravia, Rui, Kleber are good to great bench players to complete a starting lineup.
Reaves, Luka, LeBron and Ayton are good starters.
They are still missing a 2-way wing piece, they even miss it more with losing DFS.

Doesn't seem likely for Nico to send LAL the piece that turned around the Mavs the most on the 24 deadline, but I like PJ's fit next to Luka, and Hachimura fit (not as a starter though) next to Flagg/Lively.

Rui is a very good shooter and although absentminded, he is not a terrible defender, I am a little worried about the Mavs' shooting. Imagine some lineups with Exum/Klay/Hachimura/Flagg/AD... that should be pretty good.

Re: (Shams) Smart to Lakers after buyout
Gonna be painful to see Smart in the purple and gold but think this could be a really good fit for both parties, especially with Luka in tow. Smart is at his best when he's doing everything but shooting the ball and with Luka and LeBron he'll get in line and be the bulldog at guard and on the wing they could really use while, hopefully, not trying to do too much elsewhere.
As a side note I also think this could be outstanding for Bronny and his development because if he wants to stick in the league I think he's gotta be elite at all the things that Smart hangs his hat on (on ball/team defense, hustle plays, getting under teams' skin, moving the ball well and at least hitting the easy bunnies). Marcus was great with the kids in Boston in terms of helping them develop. He took Payton Pritchard under his wing and his defense came along leaps and bounds and PP doesn't have the natural athleticism that Bronny does, so will be interesting if he can take anything away from Smart's game.
I know LeBron is his dad and there is arguably no better player to learn form than one of the GOATs, but sometimes I think it's actually more fitting to be under the tutelage of a guy who is closer to your own skillset/ability. It's a much more relevant career path to try to hone in on and emulate.

Feel like Dalton is plenty good enough of a prospect for Jalen Smith? How much is an 4th big really worth?
And the Bulls have Vuc/Collins on the roster still.

Yeah agreed, Smith is a fine player but he is what he is at this point. No reason to dump him but if you think Knecht might have a place in the league it probably makes sense to pull the trigger

A bag of peanuts. It's amazing how it seems like your 3rd string C is somehow magically valuable.

Jalen has the versatility to play PF/C and is a valuable two way stretch big. While Knecht has lost value and confidence. Not sure how Dalton has any value to play over
Ayo/Kevin/Julian/Matas/Noa/Patrick/THT/Okoro/Dalen.
Dalton at 24 will be 25 before the season ends is only year younger than Jalen Smith. While also being less versatile than all the guys I just listed who range from 2-4 positionally not even counting Coby and Josh.

The Bulls have no reason to sacrifice at a position of need to add a guy who would not be a priority regarding development. They literally have 10 wings/guards on their team most younger than Dalton.

I mean that list is pretty strong.. but saying THT or Dalen or Julian are more valuable/better than Dalton is weird to me. THT hasn’t gotten a vet min offer yet. Dalen seems a bad contract at 5 mil..
While I spent some time arguing with LA fans for hyping Dalton up so much due to his start of his rookie season, I’m pretty sure some team would still bet on him growing on that. Kind of like Chris Duarte’s value a couple years ago?
And that’s all I Jalen worth really - a couple seconds. A useful enough bench big but not someone you really want starting at all.
Your point could be a need for a third team though?
