Only two positive things came from this summer league..

Larrson looked like he made improvements
Spoelstra called out Ware, told him to get off his ass the team has expectations

Thats about it

Honestly I do not think Larsson made improvements outside of his defense.

Settle has been trash
Williams has been trash
Cooke is normally good but he is checked out.
Gardner is good but too chippy, needs to calm down
Need to see more dainja with vlad
1. Herro 2. Bol Bol 3. Seko 4. Bruno
unless we trade up for Barrett or trade down for PJ Washington

Kasper’s performance today was….acceptable…for now. He showed growth. He did not play great, but there definitely was improvement.

Count on me hating on him more as the years go on. Only cuz I think he has the potential to be the PG of the future for this team. So if he starts to stagnate ima be like yo Kasper not training dude sucks go home. Don’t ask me why, cuz I have no idea. Just a fan of the game.

Is the scouting sucking, or do most players already know the roster is full?

I dont know how the roster is full when we just got the worst ass whooping in the history of the first round in the NBA.

They should be in summer league thinking the only one with a secure roster spot is Bam.

Maybe the talent was just really lacking this year. Our predraft work this year and reported workouts just seemed off. I don’t think it has much to do with a potential full roster cause we currently have the 15th spot open and two open two way spots to give out. Dru Smith mysteriously still has not signed so he must be weighing out other more lucrative options possibly overseas or holding out for guaranteed deal.

I agree. That’s why I am in disbelief they got a bunch of nothing on the summer league roster. Things seem a little too comfortable in the Heat organization.

It’s make or break this upcoming season.

It was a weak free agency with Myles Turner being the best free agent available. We also didnt have any assets to make a real trade for a star.

The Heat has 60 million in expirings, potentially 90 million at the deadline when they move Wiggins.

This roster will get the upcoming season to give the front office a reason to build on. If it turns to complete **** (as i expect it will), it wont be too difficult for them to move Herro and others that dont fit and turn the page to the next chapter .

Which is why i say niw that im ok we didnt go get Lebron or Durant though we never had a chance at Durant, the rockets gave up way more than we had ..

Durant and Lebron would have continued to hide very weak points of the rest of our roster. And at their age, evem though it would have been a short term patch, long term we would have been in a deep hole.

Its time to see if this core is actually worth building and investing on. And i already know what i would bet my house on..

NIL really cleared out the depth of this years draft, especially in the 2nd round and lower range. A lot of talent went back to school, causing the guys that stayed to get taken earlier. The remaining undrafted guys are really middling as a result.

Erik Stevenson who was one of the big contributors this summer league is older than Tyler Herro, a 6 year nba vet.

In kaspars defense, Summer league and G league is probably the sloppiest form of basketball of the entire world, well besides womens basketball…..

everyone is trying to get their numbers/moments to make it to the nba and that does not not work with someone like kaspar who is trying to play point guard

Im sure with more reps, he will have better moments in the g league..

But the real development will come when he works directly with our coaching staff, when caron, quinn and spoelstra get their hands on him, when our starting line up is telling him what they expect, what he should see and look for, what to anticipate.

The shooting will come.. spo has made 3 point shooters out of the biggest bums coming out of the ymca.. hell Bam is one of our most efficient 3 point shooters.

The Dragic comp is ridiculous he's no where near the athlete nor can he get into the lane at will. He's a completely different player he looks more like a way less athletic Tomas Satoransky with better shooting form.

Yeah the Dragic comp doesn't seem that accurate. If we're looking at Lithuanian players, then Jokubaitis is probably closer to Dragic stylistically, but at a much lower level of course. Satoransky one for Jakucionis is interesting. It's not a bad comparison stylistically. I think Jakucionis has better vision and shooting form, but as you mentioned worse athleticism. And probably worse handle.

Kasparas isn't the speed demon prime Dragic was, but an important thing to remember is that he's much bigger. 3 inches taller with a longer wingspan and standing reach. He also seems to be pretty strong for a 19 year old rookie. As a result, he was able to draw over 4 FTA a game in summer league, and was surprisingly effective on defense. He usually knew where to be, competed, and had the body to actually do it. Along with his above average vision, that's a great base for the Heat to build off of. Just clean up the shooting and turnovers.
