Shaquille O’Neal at his peak would have won with any decent guard, so this statement ain’t too bold. He remains the best player I have ever seen and the closest thing to a championship garantuee. How many in a row still comes down to him and his (in)ability to have a decent work ethic and (in)ability to not clash with others in the organisation, but Shaq and Steph might be the best hypothetical 1-2 duo ever in regards to fit.

And Kobe only needed a decent big and went to 3 straight finals..

Boy, Shaq just won’t shut up.

He should just appreciate what the game has done for him.

I think he could've won 3 with T-Mac. He's not wrong that his presence certainly made it a lot easier for the great perimeter players he played with.

How decent does the guard have to be? Eddie Jones obviously wasn't good enough, but I think Ray Allen would have been another player with whom Shaq would have won at least in 2000.

I don't believe any of the three would have three-peated with Shaq. Physically the first two wouldn't have held up to three seasons worth of finals appearances. Never in a million years. And Shaq would have never waited for Steph to get over the ankle issues to become the player he eventually became.

Maybe or maybe not who really knows? I think it's more likely that kobe wins 3 with a great center than shaq winning three with another great perimeter player. I mean he had penny and didn't win anything. Tmac never got out the first round in his prime no matter who his teammate was. Vince just didn't seem as driven to be great, maybe it's because the game just seemed to come so easy, for him. I think shaq would have had a bigger issue with steph shooting half court threes than he had with kobes shooting. Also none of the other three were quite as good as kobe was defensively imo. I know some call his defense overrated but it was still better than all theirs.

those lakers needed everything kobe brought to the table on offense and defense getting through the west. imo none of them can do what kobe did for that 3peat team in their 4/5/6 years in the league.

Shaq is easily the most likeable and dislikable player simultaneously. A gift and a curse in itself.

I don't think this is all that crazy to say. In fact, I think he's spot on outside the "6 with Curry" one. Shaq was an all-time player during his Lakers run. I doubt the results would have been any different with a half decent all-star guard/swingman playing in Kobe's spot.

Fella, Shaq at his peak was the most dominant player of all time. The game hasn't done anything for him. He did it by himself.
When their feud with Kobe settled, he gave Kobe more flowers than any other.

This particular statement of his is correct. Shaq has said many stupid things over the years but this isn't stupid at all because it's the truth.

The Lebron Fan Insecurity

It’s a great band name.

Strike for derailing and baiting.
- ccs
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o
