I loved Ha.
But the summer league fan hype is just that. Remember how great Scoot looked against G-League players?
This was just a move to boost Chinese interest in the franchise prior to a sale.
Didn’t scoot only play like the first half of one game? And I don’t remember Ha being good in summer league
Scoot actually played a season in the g-league for the Ignite as he waited to become draft eligible. Dominated there, but again against weaker competition.
I'm not arguing whether or not Ha2 is the "Jokic 2" of the CBA. I'm just shooting my shot that he's not "Jokic 2" of the NBA. And with the team for sale, gaining a Chinese fan base makes sense business wise.
But the team traded down and picked up a future 1st, so I've warmed up to the gamble.

Slow as heck, poor stamina, sub rudimentary post moves, poor rebounding, foul prone, has one “go to” slow roll spin move that has already been scouted in SL
Yeah he has good vision\passing, pretty sure that is the not the #1 quality you want in an NBA caliber CENTER.
I can only chuckle at the revisionist history, trying to justify POR picking him at #16
Plus we just picked a center the last draft.
"Did you see what he did against players that can't make it into the league?"
Future Rip City Remix great.
But again, we did trade down and get a future 1st. So, it's mostly just punting this draft.
I mean, when you view it as taking Cedric Coward or taking a flyer on Ha2 and future 1st, it doesn't seem that bad.
Sinobas wrote:I like how Yang must be "HA 2.0" just because they are both asian. And their games are nothing alike.
Being Asian has nothing to do with the player comparison. Like Ha1, he lacks the athleticism and shooting needed to play in the modern NBA and has unwarranted hype. I hope that I am wrong. Guy seems awesome. I gain nothing by him failing.
Because love can burn like a cigarette.
And leave you left with nothing.
