I'm trusting Bobby Marks over Keith Smith. But plausible Marks screwed up his analysis.

Reading through the relevant sections of the CBA, Marks's analysis seems correct to me. At least for the most part (I'm struggling to find where the "this will happen after the 2025-26 regular season" part is coming from, but I'm probably missing something).

Most relevant sections:
    Article XXVII, Section 1(a)
    Article XXVII, Section 5(a-c)
Section 5(c) walks through a few examples.

Again, here's the CBA, in case people want to check out these sections for themselves: https://imgix.cosmicjs.com/25da5eb0-15eb-11ee-b5b3-fbd321202bdf-Final-2023-NBA-Collective-Bargaining-Agreement-6-28-23.pdf

CJ will likely be bought out later in the year and if Portland are doing well then that would be the perfect place for him.

Dame ought to be super charitable in the Portland & Milwaukee communities the next couple of yrs. He'll be the highest paid player in the NBA by far, for playing 1 of 2 years, and having been underwhelming for the Bucks.

I always thought he would be back with the Blazers. If he was the player I felt he was.

He is that guy. Glad he is back.

am i missing something? seems like he accidentally dragged his pivot foot and traveled. other than that it was a pretty normal pattern.

I think it showed that Kon can get his shot off under pressure and nail it. I so wish the Bucks could have somehow acquired this guy. He'd be our Middleton replacement.

Maybe on one side of the ball.

He stopped in time once he saw the defender. Kept his pivot foot. Then did a subtle fake toward the guy to freeze him, before pulling up in the pocket in between two defenders. It was pretty slick.

I watched his 1st game out of curiosity, and tbh it was pretty concerning how he couldn't get much separation for a shot or to pass before pressure collapsed. But maybe he was nervous. He's bounced back nicely. And the defense was encouraging, even in the game I saw. Reppin' Cream City.

Dame has always been incredibly charitable in the Portland community. Usually doing a lot of things that he purposefully doesn't want press over, but gets talked about by some reporters who are close to him and know about his charities he gives to.

Yeah not having Mids wingspan will hurt him defensively. Sure, I'd love to have Kon, but if we had acquired the pick needed to draft Kon, I would sure hope we'd have used it on Tre Johnson, just like Charlotte should have.

I'm relieved we don't have Smart. Fragile and grossly overrated.

Fragile mind, fragile body, fragile ego.
There’s a reason the Celtics won a title moving on from him to Jrue.
