What culture have the Knicks built over the last 5 years? I honestly have had trouble defining the identity of the team other than they seem to be a good group of guys.

Well up until last season, which for what is worth was our best season the Knicks were known to be grit, play above our "on paper" talent level and played defense

Either way we have a new coach now. In theory he should be an upgrade/better fit for the
current roster construction of this team than Thibs was.

I agree. I was just answering the question. This last season as crazy as it sounds felt like our worst season. I felt like we had great talent yet couldn't beat anyone hood all year. I spent most of the season pissed off and then we had that run in the playoffs. Beating the Celtics was just so crazy. But I just cant forget how bad it felt all season. Going like 0-11 vs teams ahead of us in the standings and not too great vs teams over .500 in general. I know depth and rookie play get all the attention around here but I dont even think Thibs managed the starting 5 that great its amazing we somehow beat enough bad teams to still end up the 3rd seed. Then obviously we played well ( overall) in the playoffs.

I agree though. I think Brown will have us play better

Health, too. But I think he wasn't very motivated to play, anyway. Plus Washington was tanking. No reason to play him.

Seems like the Spurs got Olynk pretty cheap; couldn't we have nabbed him? A big who is also a good 3pt shooter and decent rebounder.

at his prime age and has enough strength to defend stronger backcourt players and might even defend lighter SFs

We still need a legit starting center

What combo of Mitch/Duece or Mitch/Hart can get us?

Agreed. We could use him at the 5 and Yabu at 4 and mix match all game. We need a starting center. Mitch has to go.

Olynyk is kind of washed. Can't defend. Hate to say that about a Canadian but that's how he looked in Toronto, and last Summer Olympics
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

It can be cheap in assets spent.

However, Olynik is expensive in salaries. 13,4M cap hit.

We would need to send 13,4M to not be hard capped in first apron and, because we are hard capped in the second apron, we also could not get more salary superior than a vet min and a rookie min to make 14 man-roster min.

I doubt the Knicks get involved because they don’t have a lot of assets and it would be hard to match salaries but I wonder what the trade market is for Ayo on the Bulls.

KNICKS aren't making any moves until the Giannis sweepstake is settled. In fact, most of the league is low-key waiting to see what happens with the Greek Freak.

I wonder if we try to add Jordan Goodwin. Seems like the kind of player we would want to add if we were/are looking at Smart and Simmons.

I would take a flyer on Blake Wesley. He was just waived by Washington. I liked his upside coming out of college.

it is interesting on the last KFS video us and the spurs are the only 2 teams who haven't signed one two-way player.
